It would be a waste of time to get the F480 because its a dumb phone with a smart phone spec sheet. I would go with the dream.

It's not a waste of time if you want a really good camera and you don't want to pay for the Android data plan.

I say get the HTC Dream. It can do more and it is a good iPhone competiter.

It may not look that great but I rather go for the features than the looks.

Well you're assuming that the Android data plan would be priced differently from the data plan for this phone which one would need to take advantage of this phones 3G web browsing capabilities.

I don't know if someone has some knowledge if there will be a price difference or not.

Other carriers are starting to charge $30/month for 3G data access regardless of the phone if the phone allows full web browsing as opposed to WAP only.

True, the Dream is ugly too but I would feel so dumb using the F480. I have a big touch screen just to press #1 three times to write the letter C. If this had a qwerty keyboard display on the touchscreen. I would be all over it.

Considering I disabled text, I'd digg the F480. The data plan for the G1 is too much..
It's been great knowing you guys, thanks. - THECOW

Yeah, its kind of too much for me. I would still get the phone though but its one ugly phone to me.

I assume that because that is what this and other sites are reporting. Android will have it's own special data plan. No one has said anything about the T919 needing a special data plan.

I just wonder if T-Mo is going to up the price of their total internet data plan once they do open up the 3g service.  I don't think it would be a wise move for them to do so - seeing as how most of us won't get 3g - but I could see them raising the price either way.  So it may be a moot point on getting either the G1 or the T919.... ;)

The Sidekick plan will not work with any phones that are not a Sidekick.  You'll still get the unlimited text, but be paying $5 more then you need to for it.  It won't even give you tzones access on a basic phone.

I wouldn't count on that.  We don't know the prices of either of these, but if you were to get the unlimited web and text on a windows mobile or blackberry phone, it would be $35.  It seems most likely that the Android will have one plan to cover both like the Sidekick except it seems like it too will be $35.  How many messages do you use each month.  It also seems like there will be an Android plan with 400 messages for probably about $25-$30 so that might work better for you if you can stay under 400 messages.

well I talk a lot on aim but im not entirely sure if 400 messages enough. (is that incoming?) 500 messages would probably be enough. i just need a plan that gives me a lot of messages and unlimited browsing that doesnt cost much.

i agree with ratchet about the cost...
this is what makes or breaks the android....the data plan
the only reason i havent gotten an iphone is because of its plan and now if android gets its own plan, i might just opt. out and get an unlocked iphone...the Tocco possibly but lack of wi-fi kills the tocco for me
