I know that there are many people here that are excited for the BlackBerry Driftwood, and here's it with T-Mobile branding! I think I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that on my Twitter feed.

All I want now is a release date and a pricetag. But I'm thinking that's a bit much to ask for now because there's finally visual evidence of the Driftwood.

Better watch out. If they release that Morrison anywhere near the Driftwood [i.e. before it] you may get the same thing the TP2 is getting - pricing blackout until the day of release. 'cause, you know, wouldn't want to divert from their precious little Android and all ;)

I handled a blackberry curve 8900 in person the other day. I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ONE. They are so little and cute lol. But I'd rather wait for a blackberry with a touchscreen and landscape keyboard.
Hopefully RIM will make one soon =]
:D

3G. I'd take this Driftwood over your TP2 any day of the week. And the Driftwood has UMA.

So, why can RIM get 3G/Wifi/UMA right, but the rest of the OEM's can't?

It basically is just a tour with a trackpad.  The tour has a fantastic keyboard and screen.  I have a feeling this one will be slimmer than the tour though (gsm phones tend to be slimmer).  I am actually very excited about this phone, more so than any android phones coming to tmobile (I think).

Looking at it again, the 8900 looks better. Anyhoo, yes... how is it that RIM knocks it out of the park with UMA while everyone else is left in the cold? I thought UMA was being pushed at one time as their latest and greatest thing? The only reason it's probably not as far off the ground as they'd like is the number and variety of phones currently with UMA

Someone know how to get your hands on some UMA hardware? I also need a soldering gun...

So am I. I had 8320, so I know I wouldn't mind going back to a blackberry. The Morrison looks to be very boring, the myTouch 3G isn't for me, and no one knows when the I7500 is being released. The Nokia Rover seems ok, but never ried Maemo, and it has a resistive screen, which isn't too bad, but capacitative is far superior. This Blackberry has me rethinking everything

T-Mobile doesn't seem to interested in UMA that much. No phones to back up their tech.

UMA was promoted by T-Mobile a bit initially but now it's died down. As for the 8900, it's a great device hampered with the lack of 3G and a small keyboard. The keyboard is subjective because I have big hands. But the 8320 I owned had a keyboard slightly bigger and I could type with less errors because there was actually space between the keys. Chiclet keyboards need some space between the keys, they can't be bunched up together like they are on the 8900.

I know I might get flamed for this. BB phones are nice and I loved my Curve, but the OS is so boring compared to others. BB's are great phones and all but I rather have Android or WebOS any day. I agree is nice to see more high end phones coming out for T-mobile i hope they keep it up.

Well that's a pretty big deal for T-Mobile.

And I agree with this. Blackberry's are great for what they are, but there is a reason for that. Until more recent times, RIM were never bothered to jump into the whole pop-culture/multimedia side of the cell phone game. They never even had ad campaigns until recent times. Now that phones have become mini computers, they finally started to add some "mass user" features to their lineup. Even still, BBs just aren't as flashy or sexy, as they say, when you put it next to Android, TouchFlo, or even the ...iPhone *shudder* But none of that is a knock on Blackberry's. Like I said, they do what they're good at, and it's great to see T-Mobile having these more advanced options finally becoming available to all of us, no matter what type of device you need. I never would have thought to see a super powered Nokia on T-Mobile USA this year. With Sprint's stock volume in the toilet, and millions of customers dropping every quarter, we could be in the #3 spot before we know it. Did I get off topic?

i have to disagree I've been using the mt3g for 3 weeks now and completely bored of the phone. To me android platform is only fun when rootable otherwise in its current state its POS. I'm not saying that blackberry are any better but if i didn't get the mt3g for free I'd honestly revert back to my 8900. Also all the things i hated about the 8900 is now good with the bb 9700. We have now trackpad which i tested out the gemini and the trackpad is so amazing i fell in love with it. Also 3g, hopefully uma , and OS 5. Not to mention skyfire is working on making us a browser and upon reading about it this will be the first third-party browser that can be defaulted so we won't have to worry about using the weak bb browser.

Also have you guys still heard of this still being released next month this would be a wonder back to college gift for myself.
