It just changed to $299!

Still showing $349 for me.

OK, just got off the phone with T-Mo.  We were all set to order the phone after she entered my info, but the order page would not finalize.  She said a message then popped up saying "Not until 10:00 am."

We tried various workarounds and still could not place the order.

She apologized over and over again for the info I got that said I could get it after 12 midnight.

But the good thing, she confirmed the price is $279 and $329.  So that's something for you.

That other posting is simply old data.

And lastly, it still does not show up on my account page.

That is $329 for no contract? Damn my wife will be happy since I told her expect no less than $500 hehe.

$329 on 1 year contract if it turns out to be true.

Anything under $500 is fine with me. At least right now...

I doubt no contract will be less than $500, it will probably be close maybe $549 or $599.

$199

Sometimes vendors get phones at better prices than the carrier.  A few years back, in 2003 I bought two 7100t phones from a company called ushopwireless.com  They are still in business.

Back then T-Mo wanted $250 for the 7100t, with a contract.  ushopwireless had it for FREE.  And the price of the plan was better.  Back then ushopwireless had a 1000 minutes, nights/weekend free for $39.99 a month, a plan not even offered through T-Mo.

Back then Letstalk.com was also around.  As I recall they wanted $75 for the 7100t.

I note that if you press the detail info they show the retail price of the TP2 at $399 and they give a $149 discount to reach the $200 selling price.  But that is for new customers.

The price for an existing T-Mo customer, with contract extension, is $299.

OK at Letstalk, I thought we were talking about at T-Mobile.com

I did not think I had to mention the contract duration since the prices have been posted so many times.

It's $329 with a one year contract.  If you told your wife, go wake her up and give her the bad news.

It's $279 with a two year contract.  No better deal below that.

Full price is $500 something.

Well currently with the $349.99 2 Year contract the details page offers the phone without contract @ $549.99

http://www.t-mobile.com/popup/generic_popup.aspx?action=devicepromo&device=e8253426-a830-49bb-aa7c-d47156399047

If this holds true @ $279.99 then it would reason it would be $479.99.

Edit: I just remembered that I forgot to select the No Contract when the G1 was released so I still have a year and how ever long to go with that contract. If there is a 1yr option I might consider that. The wife just wants out of contract because she is being told by all her texting buddies how good provider so-and-so is. She is seriously considering leaving T-Mobile due to spotty coverage and zero 3G in our state. But we live in the middle of no where so I am sure it won't change much with other providers.

I am not sure what that is all about.  The $549 is old data that was posted before T-Mo changed the prices (lowered).

Are you a new customer?  If so, the prices that I have posted apply to you as well.  If you sign up for an account and sign a two year contract the phone will cost you $279, or $329 on a one year contract.

At least 11 people, including me a second time, have talked to T-Mo reps who have seen and confirmed the new, lower pricing.

And when I talked to one CSR he said that they lowered the price due to customer "howling" over the $349 price (on a two year contract).

So I would trust the people we have talked to who have all said the same thing about pricing.  That computer info, wherever it came from does not show up on mytmobile.com so it's outdated and does not reflect the changes.

Not a new customer and I am not doubting your information I am hoping it is right. Been with T-Mobile since 2002 actually. I am just looking at the new customer page since the upgrade option is not showing anything yet. Please do not feel I am arguing your information or attacking your information. I am just quoting what I see right now.

This pricing thing sure is interesting, either way hopefully, I can get one in my hands tomorrow. The limited stock by Tmo store does not sound good, hope there is no line in front of the store and this time it might actually be a possibility. Anyways its been good talking to all of you guys here, see you guys on the official thread!

I'm with MichaelSF on this one.  There were just too many reports yesterday of people being told $279/$329, there has to be some validity to it.

I'm sorry but its time to retire this thread. The phone is being released in a few hours and we want to promote more threads with more discussion that everyone can jump into without having to read 70+ pages. Feel free to create new threads and reply to existing ones in the Touch Pro2 forum within the HTC Discussion. Also feel free to show off your new "baby"  ;) by posting some unboxing pics.
