When was the price raised?
When they rebranded it "T-Mobile Tv HD".

T-Mobile Services / Re: Am I Going to Lose Free WiFi HotSpot / Tethering?
« on: January 03, 2012, 10:58:27 pm »
Hey John. Not completely sure but I do believe it is based on the device. T-Mobile has some sort of way to tell if you are tethering and makes you add the plan before doing anything. Rooting and flashing a custom ROM, however, does solve the problem. One of the main reasons I rooted my s2. I know for sure the s2 and Amaze both require you to have the 14.99 tethering plan if you are unrooted and running the stock ROM. Not too sure about any other devices.

One thing that has me confused is the fact that I witnessed a guy not being able to tether for free on his Lg g2x, where I had no problem tethering mine. So that makes me think that it is something account related as well.

Anyway, rooting seems to solve the problem either way.

T-Mobile Services / Re: Cancelation of FlexPay/ Even More+
« on: December 19, 2011, 05:47:42 pm »
You have two choices, either go to a post paid account(Value or Classic), or go to Monthly4g(Prepaid).
Keep in mind though, if you are still in contract you may have to pay a migration fee to move over to Value. With Monthly4g you will have to pay for your first month up front.
There is no additional cost to move over to a Classic plan.

Btw, welcome to TmoNews!

Tech Hotline / Re: Using WIFI for texts...
« on: November 08, 2011, 02:15:19 pm »
All texts are sent via tmobile's network UNLESS you are using a wifi calling app.

Assuming you have no problems at home because you have reception there.

Galaxy S II / Re: I can't find the wifi calling app in my new GS2.
« on: October 14, 2011, 11:47:46 pm »
^^ hmm odd.. I wonder whats soo special with the new sim card also? or can u simply call Tmo to activate the Amaze Wifi calling version on your old sim card? I wonder.. like how to be able to get unlimited wifi calling minutes, u have to opt-in (call tmo).
Don't think so. Think this is something physically related with the sim card, rather than only software.

Do they look any different on either side?
They look the same to me, couldn't find anything different.

Hey guess what? GS2 does not. support wifi calling at this time. TMO falsely represented the phone saying in would. I talked with multiple peole in customer service and they have no clue when the software fix will be available. So much for knowledgable and Truthful selling. I took my GS2 back the next day once I found out the full story. What sets TMO apart was wifi calling in homes where you have solar shield decking interferance. I am back using my HTC Sensation for now. Asked them to call when SG2 gets wifi calling.
That sucks, that should've been available since day 1 like on the Amaze. Guess they are still ironing out some kinks for the Galaxy's version of the app.

Galaxy S II / Re: I can't find the wifi calling app in my new GS2.
« on: October 13, 2011, 10:52:35 am »
^It's already built into the Amaze under the wireless networks settings, it's not longer an app in the app drawer.

Also, for both phones it's required to use the sim card that comes with the phone, as you won't be able to use wifi calling. On the Amaze I got an error saying that my sim card was invalid to utilize wifi calling. So, yeaaah not sure what's so special about the new sim cards, but apparently it matters.

So was able to play with the Amaze 4g, not that much different from the Sensation. Camera features are nice, speed tests were nice,  but it looks exactly like the Sensation. Made my decision to scoop up a Galaxy S II.

Holy ****, you still here man??? I haven't see you post in over a year at least. Good to see you still around.

1 Week after the iphone event, Google launching ICS and Nexus Prime:

I can only hope that if Sprint picks up the subsidy for it (like they did with the Nexus S) T-Mobile does the same.

Ah yep, still around! How goes it?!?!

I like both of these phones but I am waiting for the next Nexus.
I cant wait for that device either, but Im definitely getting 1 of the two that are launching on the 12th.

T-Mobile Services / Re: Upgrading Options
« on: September 28, 2011, 10:57:09 pm »
Yup, Viper is right, no discounts on value plans. But if you do the math, even though you're paying full price for phones, you actually end up saving more money by switching to value plans. If both lines are out of contract, or both have 185 days left or less contact-wise, you can move over to the value plans with no migration fee(s).

At the most your bill would be around $127.50 for 20 months(if you get both phones on installment plan at the same time), and $99.98 the last 4 months, versus paying $139.99 on a classic plan, for 24 months.

T-Mobile Services / Re: Switching to T-Mobile and not getting a new phone
« on: September 28, 2011, 10:49:11 pm »
I agree with Jet, double check. But I do believe she would still get new customer pricing until she takes advantage of it.

15
Glad you decided to switch over to the value plans!

Hmmmm, interesting because with value plans you don't get upgrades. You pay full price for the phone over the course of 20 months. Of course you can pay off a phone early to get another one. Then again, it also depends on how much credit line your account has.

Couldn't you just have the feature added to your plan?

Haha, I love the title of this topic! I too am happy to see them stepping up their game, but I'm (like many others) torn between the two. (Latoya Luckett?)

I initially wanted the Amaze 4g, simply because I want that camera, I love how Htc phones are built, the developer support for Htc devices is amazing, and..though it may not be a big deal for others, I would like to have an led indicator. But I do love the larger screen, and Superamoled+ technology of the GS II. I will get some one on one time with both devices, so I guess I'll make my decision then. Havent been faced with a tough phone decision in a while.

G2x / Re: Is there a root for the G2X with GB 2.3.3 right now ?
« on: September 28, 2011, 10:22:55 pm »
Rooting my G2x was extremely easy, just followed these steps. I'm now running a customized build of Gingerbread, with the old Lg cam ported, with 1080p video recording at 24fps, and 720p at 30 fps.

All things Android / Is this IceCreamSandwich?

From reading the comments, most people are saying this looks fake. But I have reason to believe that it may actually be legit, just from looking at everything with the exception of the Launcher. What do you guys think?
