T-Mobile Services / Re: 10 Brands That May Disappear in 2011
« on: July 10, 2010, 05:21:22 pm »
It's not the first time I had read something along these lines of T-Mobile US slowly going out of business. Little by little more and more people are leaving the company because they are not happy with the customer service or the cell phones T-mo has or coming out. AT & T has the iphone, so even if the service is bad people will still go there because they want the iphone. Verizon is expensive, but they are coming out with higher end smartphones that (from what I read on forums) people want and T-mo is not getting. So what happens, customers jump ship to the company that giving them what they want in phone needs.

I was checking out the phones in T-mobile UK and you can see that they have better looking phones than the ones they sling out here. Plus I they are getting the iphone out there soon. How come T-mo US can't get it? Business will take a huge jump if they did. Even if Google hadn't messed up with the whole "buy the Nexus one on our online store" and gave it to T-mobile to sell. A move like that would have been great business for them as well. The Nexus is an faster higher end phone and customers what that. I really wanted the Nexus, but because it was a pain in the ass to get one from the online store, I gave up...

If T-mobile wants to last in the future, they have to make better choices about what phone they decide to put their brand on. People want faster, sleeker phones and they should try to cater to that. After all we are the ones who spend our money for good products that we want to be happy with for a long time. We shouldn't have to be disappointed in a months time after we buy a new phone and lust after something better and faster....but that's just me.

I'm just curious, I know the HD2 is sold out all over right now, but to the ones who have it. I want to know if you still enjoy it or regret getting it?

Or for ones who are still waiting for it, are you having second thoughts because of all you have been reading?

Cliq XT / Re: Motorola Cliq XT
« on: May 02, 2010, 07:24:09 am »
@Timber1-Win 7 will be on the HD2, they made that clear. So your pretty much stuck with 6.5. I hate Windows phones they always freeze. I'm sure people will love it for a little while, but the shine will fade. Android allows you more freedom to customize, so you can never get bored of it.

Cliq xt is currently running 1.5. There have been talks of it upgrading to 2.0 sometime soon. I got an update the other day and thought that was it, but it was just an update to help the cliq xt run smoother.

@Land of the Trill-the cliq xt runs motoblur, so you can pull feeds from other networking sites. (Facebook,Twitter, Myspace) etc. BUT the fun thing is you can make your own. Cliq xt has news widgets that you can customize with your own news from any sites you want(as long as they have Rss feeds) I had 3 of my own set up.

1) I call it Gadget news, which feeds from sites like Engadget, Phonescoop, Mobilecrunch etc
2) another I called Gaming News, which feeds from Rockband.com, Rockbandaide.com, Joystiq, G4tv.com
3) I have one set up for regular news, it feeds from Wsj.com, cnn.com and reuters

So there is so much you can do with the cliq xt, I'm still love it. My only minor issues I have with it is sometimes the keyboard when typing can be a pain in the ass and I would like the option to clear phone history. I don't like the fact that it tracks everything you do as far as communication with people on phone. I could do without that. Also I wish it give you the option of weather or not you want to add your Facebook friends as your contacts. It makes it harder to find who your looking for when scrolling through all those names in your list.

@wranglersm-if your happy with your BB then you should keep it. It doesn't make sense to buy anything you won't be happy with. For me I had to get a new phone cause I hated the Dash 3G... I'm happy with the cliq xt, but I'm sure it won't be for eveyone.

Since your not in a rush to buy anything you have time to look and see what else is coming out. The mytouch 3g will have a slider phone coming out soon, so check that out. As for AT&T they have the Evo which is nice too, only the screen is a bit large. Personally Verizon has better phone coming out and I know some new BB will be coming out as well.

As for teetering, I'm sure you will be ok. They have a program called PDAnet.com (I think) that you can use for that. Free for trial, then you pay for the full ver.

ps, In total it will run $128.32(that's what I paid), that depends if you get charged with the $18 upgrade fee, plus tax. Beautiful Widget has a nice little weather widget too, but I'll look to the one you suggested. Thanks!

I have it and I truly love it, to me it's a great little phone. I read lots of forums and hardcore phone junkies really don't like this phone, but I don't see anything wrong with it. It runs pretty well, I love that I could customize the news widgets to my liking. I set up feeds to regular news, gadget news and gaming. It runs android 1.5, this is a big no no for the hardcore phone junkies... How I look at it, I don't know what 2.0 or 2.1 android os is suppose to do, so until we get an update. I'm fine. I had the Dash 3G and I truly hated it, so this Cliq xt is a much needed welcome change. I LOVE IT!

Pics are nice and clear, video is great. Its responsive to the touch and you get 5 screens, I'm only using 3 now. Oh if you get it look into the Beautiful Widget for the retro clock, I really like the look of it. It reminds me of the HTC Hero interface.

Cliq Discussion / Re: Blur and Facebook
« on: March 24, 2010, 10:06:07 pm »
I was wondering if you could do that, I wanted to see if I could close out of Facebook, but then it said something about losing my contacts, so I didn't do it. Not that I mind it being open, but for the sake of just anybody getting into my phone and seeing everyone's info, I was hoping for an option to logout if you wanted too...I hope this changes with an update.

I'm just ranting, but I've been following all these sites saying the Cliq XT was going to be in stores March 10th, so why is it I go into the shops and there is no phone. They tell me it's not until next week(maybe) and Tmo over the phone is telling me it's not until April, what gives!?  >:(

Windows Phone 7 / Re: Anyone waiting for Windows Mobile 7?
« on: February 22, 2010, 10:50:44 pm »
Well I know it's different from the Dash, but it's just that I have so much hell with it, I don't think I could deal with anything that says "windows".  As far as music go, I have an itouch, so I wouldn't be putting music on my phone. Only to use as ringtones.

Windows Phone 7 / Re: Anyone waiting for Windows Mobile 7?
« on: February 21, 2010, 10:03:35 pm »
I'm not, since I have the Dash 3G(which I hate) I can't stand the windows mobile, so it turned me off to wanting it. Besides when I watched the video for it, it reminds me of the new Zune interface. I think I'm going to enjoy android once I decide which phone to get, either the Motorola Cliq XT or Motorola Motoroi(that is if Tmo gets it).

Cliq Discussion / Curious, can you turn off motoblur?
« on: February 21, 2010, 09:54:05 pm »
I don't have a cliq yet, but I'm kind of thinking of getting the new Cliq XT and try it out, but I was wondering can you ever turn off the motoblur if you don't want to have it running all the time? and what happens when you lock the phone, will anybody still be able to view your posts?

Thanks!

15
Thanks, oh well you would think they would put the more current ver. on new phones, but I guess with time they will shoot out an update for it.

16
I've been asking a lot of people why don't they have the same version of android on new phones. Because I see the Cliq XT will have 1.5 android on it and for the Motoroi it will have 2.0. Since the Cliq XT is new why not start it off with 2.0?

Any thoughts? Thax  ;D

Nexus One / Re: Nexus One initial thoughts/review (POST HERE)
« on: February 20, 2010, 02:24:26 pm »
I was thinking about getting it and have tried a few times but it keeps telling me I'm not eligible. I've tried everything, but I finally gave up. If you goto the google page for the phone and go to help and read the forums it's filled with people having problems with it. I said to myself I don't need that headache. Plus the fact you can't get any help from Google is a major turn off. T-mobile can't really help you and HTC washes their hands with it. A friend of mine has it and he loves it, so I guess I would have to take his word for it.
