That's what time all the stores open up in my area.
I have 5 official T-Mobile stores within a 7 mile radius of my house.
We only have the one store, which is enough, I hope.

When I get my HD2, I will likely leave it as is for now. Maybe, like on my BB8900, after I've had it some time, then I'll try some other os. Or maybe I won't. I may like it enough to keep it as is. But one step at a time, I have to buy it first.

Apple and Jobs need to be careful. With economy as it is, most are very selective of what they buy. This may hurt them as a result. BTW, different companies like to pick on BB, too. Oh, for the record, I will never buy an iPhone. Too much Apple control for me. If it's MY phone, I ought to do what I want with it.

Just between you and me black silva, I'm getting the cake (phone) first then I'll take care of the icing (apps, etc.) later. If these extras work then great, but if not IMO not a huge loss. I've not had flash etc, being on BB for over 3 years straight now. Think what this HD2 has if you couldn't change anything. Still, when released, this will be the top phone TMO has.
I am still "thinking about" getting HD2 as soon as it's released. again a Seriously, I'll do what I can to get one on the 24th, assuming that is "the day". If I'm not fast enough, I'll keep going back till I get it. Worst case is I'll have to wait till 5/24 and get it for $199.99. lol

Personally, I have visual voice mail on my 8900. And yes, that means I also have os 5.0, specifically 5.0.0.411(611) platform 5.2.0.31, an official os from vodafone de.
This was my first time upgrading to an unavailable to TMO USA user os, and it works very well. It is official in Europe and possibly other parts of the world. I followed the posts from a BB site that also had the link for the os upgrade. I like the admitted minor changes that took place. And I can't say definite yes your experience will be exactly like mine (cover self). Even the site I got the os from says it's not something everybody should try. But, if you are willing to take the risk, so be it. I did and I like it.
My BB is better for the os upgrade, IMO. The most important thing it did for my BB was increase signal. Everywhere I go that I can remember the before/after signal strength, I see about 1 plus. Obviously, you can't go above full signal.
As for visual voice mail, after my os upgrade, I clicked on the V V M button, a message popped up saying something about V V M is not activated for my account, would I like it turned on. I selected yes, and that's it. V V M showed up on TMO website for my account as active.

« on: March 09, 2010, 02:52:19 pm »The kicker is the lack of Flash 10.1 support, since the Adobe team were assuming the HD2 would get WM 7. No Flash 10.1 for WM 6.5 devices.
The combination of no Flash support and a fading OS will not equal the best sales for the device. 95% of buyers do not know what/who XDA is or would bother "hacking" their phones.
The HD2 has too good of hardware to not at least get Flash 10.1. HTC and TMO need to push the issue. Then again, with only a 1320mah battery, 4.3" screen, snapdragon, WM 6.5 and 3G running- Flash sites would probably drain the battery in less than two hours
Heck, the N900 drains quick too using Flash and does not have as big a screen or inefficient WM 6.5.
There are ways around the lack of flash, correct? And assume there is not, (I believe you can do something about it, though, IMO) is it really a deal breaker?

I'm still getting the HD2, barring any serious negatives between now and seeing it in my hand. WM7 is NO deal breaker for me. It will have bugs to work out and only a few apps for a while, IMO.

Just so I don't mislead any, I believe the HD2 can be had for $199 if you have 12 months in and are willing to extend the contract. I am assuming (maybe foolishly ) that extending the contract bumps it to a 2 years total contract as has happened to me in the past when I upgraded before the 2 years were up, and not as some have suggested an ever-increasing contract term (2 yr + upgrade after 1 yr = remaining 1 yr + 2 extra yrs to get discount = 3 yr contract, etc.).
The rep did not say to me anything about a specific phone, only that I'd get the "full" discount on another smartphone upgrading from a smartphone (current is BB 8900) at my 12 month mark. He didn't say "from this group of smartphones" or "only older model smartphones", etc.
Hindsight, I found the article on partial discounts and changes effective Jan. 27th. Bottom line, I was told if I'd wait till 1 year has passed of my 2 year contract (05/24/2010), I could upgrade with discounts comparable to what I got last time around when I chose to upgrade on my 22nd month on the 2 year contract.
Oh, by the way, I will be upgrading to the HD2 regardless of how this upgrade pricing is handled.
What I've not decided yet is if I get this when the HD2 first hits the shelf or to wait about 2 more months to save about $250. Tick, tick, time will tell.........
