Upcoming Phones / Re: Upcoming Phone Release Dates (v28.0)
« on: March 03, 2012, 12:05:50 pm »
Just to let you guys know, pulled  the trigger and bought the Nexus for my wife.  Wow, simply an amazing phone, thin, light and with ICS on it's intended device it is absolutely amazing.  If anybody was thinking about it, and go for it you won't be disappointed.

We just have to wait for the T999 to be revealed. It may be either reserved for the G-Nexus or the SGS3 (which I wrote already in the list). But so far, no news. But I have a feeling the T999 will be the SGS3, and Tmo won't subsidize the G-Nexus. So if no news about the G-Nexus to Tmo in the next 2-3 months, either look for another subsidized Tmo Android phone, or buy the G-Nexus unlocked. I rather wait for a phone with one of the next gen chips. G-Nexus is using a really old chip by todays standards, especially with the next gen chips right around the corner.

Thanks JHop

Any rumblings at all of whether the Nexus is coming, either through T-mo or Best Buy.  My wife wants that phone in the worst way and I really don't want to import it.

Upcoming Phones / Re: Anyone excited with HTC's Ville???
« on: February 20, 2012, 12:26:49 pm »
Instead of luring Apple's iPhone into using the SDCard, HTC was lured by iPhone not to include it?... Bummer. I agree that giving more flexibility to consumers is a long-term win-win approach.

I don't see anybody luring Apple into using micro sd, they have never had, don't think they ever will.

@Jhop  Hadn't thought of that scenario, I know if rooted there are ways to mirror the screen etc.  But at least in regards to pictures I have been using Google+ to instant upload, so at least I know I will never loose another good pic.

No support for microsdhc?
What's up with that?  :-(

It comes with 32gb, but yeah I'm not loving the no sd slot.  But that is the way the I-phone has always been so it can't be that bad, they do sell a few of those I-phones.

You can do one of two things come to the site everyday or if you use Twitter follow it on there, @TmoNews.  This site always seems to be right on top of everything that goes on, it has been my favorite for quite a while now.

Samsung Android / Re: Vibrant lags/freezes
« on: January 28, 2012, 09:53:27 am »
I apologize in advance for being a n00b (this is also my first post), but can the Vibrant be upgraded to Gingerbread?  I have 2.2 now.

You can try Samsung Kies Mini and see if there is an upgrade but I don't think it made it to 2.3.
There was never an update to 2.3, your better off sticking with 2.2.  Even if you root most of the 2.3 ROMS have some issues that, at least for me, drove me nuts and ended up back on 2.2 ROMs.

T-Mobile Services / Re: Am I Going to Lose Free WiFi HotSpot / Tethering?
« on: January 16, 2012, 04:11:15 pm »
Also in regards to tethering Koush (clockword mod) just released a no root needed tethering app that supposedly can not, as of now be detected by carriers.

Here is a link to the page on the android market https://market.android.com/details?id=com.koushikdutta.tether&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5rb3VzaGlrZHV0dGEudGV0aGVyIl0., that is the link to be viewed on a computer.  It's free for now, but I think there may be a charge in the future.

I did not know they were shortchanging customer by removing some additional accessories from the packages.  I have had the WING, TP2 & the HD2 and they all had multiple accessories included in the purchase.  I agree, T-Mobile needs to step up it's game with device selection.

To add to the lack of accesories, just got a MyTouch Slide 4G and no headphones in that one either.

I'm not seeing any of what you are but I also don't use OperaMobile.  Silly question maybe, but have you tried to see if it happens on another browser?  I use the stock Android browser and it looks good to me, also I'm in new Jersey.

Galaxy S II / Re: Is the battery supposed to be like this?
« on: November 16, 2011, 10:06:17 am »
You are powering a huge screen which is going to kill your battery.  The screen on a blackberry is less than half the size and a much lower resolution, which of course is going to consume less power.  Also if you have tons of apps syncing constantly that will also drain your battery.  You have to figure out what works best for you and go from there, if it means going back to blackberry or sticking o ut with this phone.  Also one question, are you putting the phone down at all?  If not then you willnever get good battery life.

Also maybe try an app called juice defender, it will shut off your data when your screen is off, which unless you need to know when every email comes in it will help a lot.

Galaxy S II / Re: Will Samsung Galaxy SII get Icecream Sandwich update?
« on: October 29, 2011, 07:45:09 am »
Eventually?  Wow Jet that was being nice.  I wouldn't expect it for at least 6 months after the Nexus drops, if not longer.  Samsung sucks at updates and with some of the things I have read in regards to changes made to the T-Mobile version it may take even longer.

Upcoming Phones / Re: Will T-Mo get the Nexus 3???????
« on: October 09, 2011, 07:16:46 am »
I would guess yes they will get it, bit exactly when no one know since there have been no official announcement.  The Nexis s ended up on 3 of the 4 big carriers and my guess is this will end up on all carriers.

Not true that all call centers have been outsourced, unless the guy I talked to last week also was outsourced.  It does seem that they have less "American" people than they used to, but I have called twice in the last month and have gotten people that were obviously from here.

The real question is where are the WP7 devices in general?  I'm interested in checking out WP7.5 but not with any of the devices that are coming out.
