Feedback / Dead zones

well here goes!
my issue is this. yes Ive only been with T-mobile for almost a year. their costumer service rocks. the phones are great (i miss my g1). I have had to return it to get a blackberry with U.M.A. its been great and all but what I'm wondering is why just concentrate on the 3g network. Why not also expand on their towers. If there is anyone out there that can help me out in getting a Touchscreen phone(android or windows mobile) that can get around the dead zone issue without out having uma. Am i the only one with this issue?
Their rate plans are great. prices are great too. just the signal issue (which is a big thing IMO)
