I am using T-Zones and have full internet, YouTube, etc. and I also set my girlfriend's up the same way.
Jet1000 is correct that the only setting requirement on the phone is epc.tmobile.com as the APN. Also try turning Data Roaming "ON". web2go settings should be identical. Even without a subscription you should get the web2go homepage. It may be possible that the phone was not unlocked properly, what firmware are you running?

My grandmother's company was running an internal promotion which I was able to assist her with, the prize for the top employee in her company was the option of $250, an 8 GB iPhone, or an 80GB iPod. She had opted to go for the iPhone with plans of giving it to me, however her company sent me an Apple gift card instead (minor issue). What I was able to do was exchange this with one of my friends who had a barely used, like new 8GB iPhone, he in turn upgraded to a 16 GB 3G phone since he is content with AT&T (despite my hazing). The amount on the gift card was $218.95 (cost of an 8GB 3g iPhone plus tax). I had the unit unlocked within an hour of taking possession and have yet to incur any issues, interenet is working, voicemail (not visual as T-Mobile does not currently support this) works, I am pretty happy with it for the time being, we will see what September 17th brings....

One of my friends sent me this picture, he was under the impression that this is a new Android handset.... I am leaning towards no but figured someone here might be able to identify this unit.
