How did T-Mo come to the conclusion that there is no demand for N series products? Did they run any surveys or ask for feedback from their customers? How can you trust these comments about responding to demand when WM devices have obviously been in demand yet T-Mo's only product offering was the Wing when people were itching for better devices?

EIRP=real power over the air

the waiting is almost over
it has passed FCC
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/fcc_query.php?gc=DGI&pc=BC0338AAA000
but the EIRP value on band IV doesn't look good

For those of us who don't know how to interpret the FCC Documents, what about the EIRP value doesn't look good and how would that affect the phone's use on T-Mobile's network?

Is that fixable with a rom update or require a hardware upgrade?

Touch Pro2 / Re: HTC Rhodium (T-Mobile Wing 2) gets FCC blessing

May be nothing, if it doesnt release in July as expected then we will know. Dont know why T-Mo seems to think having only android smartphone devices is a good thing but I see this as making them less attractive to consumers.

maybe not the topaz but the cetrine is a real possiblity, and i've heard white stone may come to t-mobile. I'm sorry but my god why do some of you complain so freaking much? 1st off t-mobile is obviously moving in a very different direction than they did in the past heck we don't know what they might come up with next. The touch Pro 2 is much better in ranking than the wing was when compared to the other winmo touch phones by other carriers... heck i bet jedi knows some more info. that he isn't putting out yet. anyway its not like android won't be a good alternative

Actually for some it wont be. If you dont use gmail, or use Outlook, Hotmail, GPS software thats non-subscription android is not a good alternative. And you may see it as complaining but I see it as voicing concern about limiting device choice which IMO is not a positive for this carrier when you compare them to their competition and since the TP2 wont be exclusive to T-Mo their special status for having the TP2 first wont last long. And please note I never said T-Mo should not carry android devices but offer more choices in WM handsets. How about if all other carriers but T-Mo offer the Toshiba TG-01, for example? Wouldnt it be nice to have a choice of devices running WM?

But I guess, as everywhere else on the internet these days if you dont hate WM and love android you are seen as a freak and shouldnt have an opinion.

Well from the leaked roadmap we should be seeing the Firestone, Whitestone and Topaz hitting other carriers in addition to the Rhodium, Maple and their variants. T-Mo only looks to be picking up the Rhodium and Maple, no Topaz or anything else. And thats only counting HTC handsets, at&t has WM devices from Samsung and the other carriers have had devices from Motorola and Samsung as well and Acer might be looking to join in as well. I guess they are getting a good deal on android handsets but I think they definitely arent too keen on WM.

266
Despite all the good feelings about the TP2 coming to T-Mobile I feel they will still be found wanting when it comes to WM handsets. By the end of the year Snapdragon and Tegra devices will be coming out and hitting other carriers but T-mo has nothing else slated to be released with WM and their love for Android means those devices will probably take years to be carried by T-Mobile, just as how the Wing was the sole WM Pro device for so long. I would rather see more choice across the board than just throwing a bone thats supposed to last forever.

Yea so people actually know T-Mobile has it.

Do you guys think anyone will switch to T-Mobile for the TP2?

The TP2 will work its way around to all the other major carriers, so why switch?

I think it would be very foolish to advertise the TP2. It's a giant liability because it's Windows Mobile. Windows Mobile stock ROMs are slow and clunky. Not very many people know how to put a custom ROM on the device. I wouldn't put much stock into a phone that has an OS which is known to be terrible for stability. T-Mobile would be better off advertising the Samsung Android or MyTouch (what a silly name.)

It would be a mistake not to promote the TP2. Other carriers will hype their Touch Pro2 offerings why should T-Mobile keep mum but shout about Android? Reviews of the Touch Diamiond2 are positive, lauded for its SPEED, screen RESPONSIVENESS and TouchFlo3D integration. There is room for multiple mobile OS's, and android does not have the mass market appeal outside the geek community, no one is clamouring for android. At least WM has a history of doing well in the business world and the TP2 is currently looking to be the pinnacle of WM business phones so T-Mobile would be well served to let people know they have it and maybe attract some business customers.

Here's a review of the D2: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_touch_diamond2-review-347.php

People seem to hate on Samsung when they release a boat load of phones on t-mobile. I think the relationship between samsung and t-mobile is among the best in the wireless industry, since they seem to have phones that cater to all demographics. I dont particularly like samsung phones as much as I used to, but they still know what they are doing.

They havent brought any of their top smartphones to T-Mobile, till they do none of their offerings will be of much consequence.
To us they won't but to the masses they will. People go for the mid to low end phones so they will still offer those more than anything else. I'd love for t-mobile to offer stuff like the Omnia and other nice phones too and hopefully they will change and offer more higher end stuff, but to say that they are of no consequence is wrong because they outsell everything else.

I think they would have more success with a device like the Omnia than any of these phones. At the time of its release it had a WM class-leading camera, onboard storage and large touchscreen. Judging from the numbers it has sold elsewhere it would probably have done pretty well with T-Mo's smartphone-starved customers.

The one in the video definitely seems to have a black keyboard and back cover rather than being a result of reduced lighting. I think that looks more stylish than the silver keyboard, understated but classy.

Samsung Android / Re: SAMSUNG ANDROID I7500 OFFICIAL - with Tmo 3G
« on: April 27, 2009, 10:28:55 am »
Q for the 3G experts, does the presence of the 1700 band alone make it compatible with T-Mo US's 3g network or is there any configuration that needs to be in place on the device? I am thinking that if they do work on T-Mo's AWS network and this is Samsung's new direction in regards to phone radio's hopefully they will release other devices with the same specs which can be picked up unlocked if T-Mo doesnt pick them up.

This is similar to the TMo SE 506, would this require a smartphone data plan? And what kind of GPS program could you get for it, this would be an ideal gift but dont want the person to have to sign up for a data plan to use the phone.

How about the Pharos Traveler 137? Wont be subsidised but for me it has a size advantage over the TP2 and comes with a rollerball which the TP2 lacks.
