So this promo has been delayed too? What is up with T-Mobile bringing out deals lately and then delaying them.

Is it really a deal if they haven't offered it yet?

darn.
I want to become a customer now and get the phone later.
They are just losing out on a couple months of my business.  Oh well.

I was originally told at my corporate store that if I bring my own phone to the deal, I have 14 days before I am under contract, so if I become a customer in the 14 days of the presale on the G1, then I should be eligible still, right?
Does "presale" mean that I order it on the internet and they ship it to me when it is officially available?  Or do I get the phone early also?

T-Mobile Services / T-Mobile contracts question
« on: August 26, 2008, 09:07:12 am »
My wife has a single line plan with T-mobile, and i have a plan with AT+T. I've been meaning to come over, but was waiting for a new phone.  Well I don't want to wait anymore, but I do want to wait for the phone.  I was told if I used my existing unlocked phone to add a line to my wifes plan and create a family plan that I would have to be on a 1-year contract.  Would this mean that I amnot eligible for a new phone until that year is up, or because I am bringing my own phone in from day 1, would I be able to get a new phone whenever I want to come in and sign a 2 year agreement?

I know you guys are busy as heck with all these new phones coming out, and the 3G service, but if you get a moment, can you update the calendar of phones page?

Thanks for all the great efforts here.

I am waiting for them to come out in the Green to switch over my AT+T line.  w00t!
If they would hurry up and get phones out faster people like me might not wait to switch over.

It is not a T-Mobile router. It's at my parents house.
I typed in the long case sensitive pass code 3 times, then I had him text it to me, which I cut and pasted, and it still failed to connect.  :(

I can't figure out why it was only 63 characters, but I put in the same code on my laptop and connected easily.  I thought the Nokia would have some limitation to the size of the key.

My 16 bit encryption (WPA) was easy at home because it uses a 5 character password to generate the 16 bit encryption.  I just type in the 5 characters then, boom, I'm connected.

I have the 6301 and can get it to connect to my WPA encrypted router at my house.
I was at my parents and tried to add their router to my phone, but it wouldn't connect.
They have a WEP encrypted router that is hidden.  I type in the hidden router name, it finds that, and then asks for the passcode, which is a 63 characters, that I type in case sensitive.  I typed it in twice and it failed to connect.  I had the pass code emailed to me, so I could cut and paste it, and it still didn't work.

What am I doing wrong?  Can the Nokia not handle that type of encryption?

The case is metal, and the screen doesn't seem to get scuffed like my sansa mp3 player, so the more durable screen is a plus.
I love the dock.  I'm not sure why, but I think it's cool.

My wife is actually using this phone and the battery does seem to get sucked out of it pretty fast on the wifi and she uses the bluetooth at the same time.  But if she is at home on the wifi that means she has the charger near, and can leave it on the dock while she moves about with the bluetooth.
I personally prefer the wifi call quality over the low battery life.
Once you are off the wifi, the battery life is great.

What is the capacity of the micro SD card for each of these.
I saw conflicting specs that say the max size is 4gb and another that says 8gb.
I would really like my pda to have 8gb to cover my media "needs".

Ah, this is good news.
So T-mobile isn't out to screw me like AT+T?  This makes me happier.

I am a little annoyed that I can't customize that button though.

Is there any way to remove the t-zones button on the right and replace it with the calendar?  Hitting that button send you to the internet which I don't want to be paying for.

Is there a way to turn off the blinking blue light for bluetooth?  I want to be able to leave bluetooth on, so I can just turn on my ear piece and have it automatically pair up.  I turned off the ear piece, and it was blinking blue all night.  I thought I was going to go into convulsions.

I may have to wait a couple days to get switch my service over to get this color.  I'm a Bengals fan.  :)

Does anyone know if there is going to be a sale or not on these?  Best Buy has the silver one for $47 this week.  I don't want the price to shoot up next week when I go to get my orange one.

Samsung Discussion / Re: Bought the Samsung t339 and LOVE IT!

Does the Samsung accept a micro sd card?  They say it has an mp3 player, but only 20 mb of internal memory.  The Amazon specs say the memory is not expandable.

I was holding out to switch over to t-mobile until they got some new wifi phones.  I'm just not sure these are it.  That Nokia looks hard to type on, and I am not interested in a Blackberry or smart phone.  Right now I think the Katalyst is the best one out there.

I was so excited about the Moto RIZR z6w, but that seems to have vanished from the radar.  :(
