Phone face-off / Re: G1 vs HTC HD2
« on: October 05, 2010, 01:08:57 pm »
Not many people are fans of Windows Mobile and people forgot this platform was made for business/professionals/students I don't think it was never intended for the fun entertainment use. Having a great Microsoft Exchange support and syncs quite well with outlook also tethers out of the box without a hack. It has Documents viewing and editing out of the box remote control desktop easy to use etc etc. Now the HD2 was a perhaps a experiment from t-mobile to load transformers and barnes and novel app and other things and made it seem like it was a entertainment device. which I think that was an epic fail for them even though it sold quite a few units. Now to answer your question do I think HD2 will make you Happy depends really on you how much your attach to android and their ecosystem. Just give it a shot its really hackable and reliable when you make it your way. People can tell you million things but untill you give it a try you will really know if its for you.

Motorola / Re: Moto Defy defies water and concrete

I don't understand why so many people have issues with Motoblur....I actually think I am looking foward to a phone like this, twould be a nice change from the Cliq
Im actually happy to hear your good with blur atleast I know their some people that do like it. The problem with all this skins like blur, sence, touch wiz and what ever else its out it makes it twice as hard for the company to release updates like froyo or what ever else its coming to the future compare to stock android. Its simple and google works with stock android so when its release you can easily update your phone without a drama. remember the Behold 2 got stuck on 1.6 the cliq on 2.0 or who knows so thats why people hate skins. I envy you that you like blur If I did I would jump on this quick.

I see. The phone doesnt need hdmi out..how many ppl use that. what do you mean no upgrade in the camera, its a whole different system, i've seen the cam on wp7 is totaly different. we dont actually know how loud the sytem is yet and all windows phone 7 devices have 720P, its built in and i think its a requirement. As far as the feel, we still cant judge that, because we have no idea how it feels.....so there are some things wrong with those statement.

I agree and disagree.  Ultimately, I need this phone in my hand before I pass final judgement.

Regarding the HDMI, I totaly used it on my EVO before I returned it. In fact I use it on my DVR, PS3, camcorder-pretty much whenever I am able to use one. Uncompressed digital audio and video, might as well take advantage of the standard.

With that being said, does the HD3/7 need an HDMI out? No.  Would it be an added bonus that I would be pleased with, yes.  Some would argue it does not need a kickstand either, however I am happy that one is included.

Regarding the 720 recording, yes-the processor can record at that resolution and so will the phone. In fact, our current HD2 can also (same processor) but is not able to do so do to the OS it is running.

As far as how the phone looks, I have no real issue with it.  The design is very "modern." This latest batch of HTC phones are moving forward with the Nexus One design (which I like a lot). Aalso, I am sure the new OS on the hardware will perform.  My point is, I don't feel it is a true HD3 when comparing the leap HTC performed from the Touch HD to the HD2.  Hardware wise, i was expecting a similar leap in specs for a device in the same family.
I Agree both you and the more features the better the device in my opinion. The TV out features I like because you can turn your phone into a mini comp with a bluetooth keyword. In reality not many need it or want it But its always nice to have. T1 probably knows more windows mobile/7 than I do since thats hes piece of pie so I trust his judgment about windows 7 and mobile. I also think which way and I are torn about htc not having a great successor to the hd2 and I agree when I saw the touch hd like 3 years ago it was awsome phone and the hd2 its second to none so we are crossing fingers htc doesnt drop the ball in such a nice line up.

100% I agree with you and I hope they make this a well successor of the hd2 I really been itching for a new device.

If the HD3/7 does in fact match the specs that we are all reviewing, I may in fact pass until an HD4 comes out.  I honestly would prefer if T Mobile called it an HD2.5 or HD2 refresh as with the Shadows and Dash (remember those?-lol).

I remember laying eyes on the first Touch HD and getting the feeling of, "the future was now." Large screen, high resolution, design, etc.  When the HD2 was announce, I had no idea it would feature an even larger screen, slimmer profile, significantly faster processor, capacitive screen, etc.  I guess I was just hoping for another leap forward with the HD3/7.

I could easily see a 4.5" screen (removing the bottom row of buttons on the HD2), a newer generation processor, a larger sensor for a camera along with an HDMI out, not to mention the removable memory and SENSE UI...  I can't wait for the finalized specs on this phone along with seeing it in person... So much hype over my new baby.
I agree specs dont seem to be quite amazing. It leads me to believe that for the same reason HTC didnt want to give us the windows 7 update they just wanted to bank on another device with almost the same hardware and just different OS. (damn greedy Basterds LOL)

A lot of people will feel that way if in fact, if this is what the HD7 turns out to be (again, based on prelim specs).

Honestly, I hope we receive a true successor to the HD2, not that run with every rumor that has graced the community but I honestly thought the HD3 would have WXGA resolution, 4.5" screen realestate (sorry-can't let that one go) and a current gen processor.

Also, is it me or does HD7 just mess up the entire lineage?  Regardless of OS, it should be the HD3, it is brand recognition.
I think the hd7 has alot things it need to cover.

1. The housing its plastic I believe not even some metal.
2. No HDMI for tv out
3. No upgarde in the camera.
4. They should of added a extra speaker
5. No 4g if im correct
6. no 720 recording
Yeah specs are pretty meh compare to other devices coming out.

Apple / Re: iPhone Headed To T-Mobile USA in 2010/2011?
« on: September 28, 2010, 12:11:00 pm »
The day the iphone comes to t-mobile thats the day the world ends. I like the iphone but if they come to t-mobile that means apple calls the shots on pricing and data pricing as well and I would hate to see T-mobile going that route. Second I doubt Steve jobs would wanna deal with t-mobile when verizon and sprint have more customer than t-mobile.

The Wishlist Forum / Re: Blackberry Playbook Tablet announced
« on: September 27, 2010, 05:50:17 pm »
its almost impossible to beat the ipad the thing has 800.000 apps. what the point of a tablet that you can just browse the web,IM,Document Viewer just etc. Just spend those 800 on a netbook and a phone. Today I went to the doctor he brought out a medical app on his ipad and told me different medications Cant beat that. iphone its too small to see things so i think that was perfect for him and makes me think the purpose of BB Playbook.

G2 / Re: The Tmobile G2, The revolution Continues.
« on: September 27, 2010, 03:29:47 pm »
It's obvious that T-Mobile is eventually going to go the "pay for tethering" route with the G2. Especially with the LG Android phone on the horizon having this feature whenever that's released.  So if one wanted to "play by the rules" they'll probably get it soon enough, especially with the Mytouch HD also being a HSPA+ Froyo device.

Of course, I'm already plotting on throwing CyanogenMod on the G2 after enjoying it in all it's stock glory for a short bit. No other wifi devices on me though so this would be a non-priority for me (at least for the moment)
Unfortunately T-mobile doesn't have the customer pull like verizon and at&t does to pull this out. They should make tethering free for a 2gb to 4gb limit and if you go over they should send you a text that your about to go over and then give you the choice of prepaying 10 bucks that month to have another 4gb extra. People would jump on this quick!

Upcoming Phones / Re: Nokia N8 coming to t-mobile [Edited]
« on: September 27, 2010, 02:03:17 pm »
Nokia hardware is pretty decent quality.  However, I must say that their hardware has a cheap plastic feeling from the low-end phones all the way to the high end models.  I wonder if this phone will impress me.
As far as material for this phone most of it its metal so build quality its going to be amazing I think. this phone and the e7 are really calling me more than the g2 and hd3

Blackberry needs a new design team they all look alike.

i think its fine.. if it aint broke, dont fix it.. remember, BB is primarily email/business, general consumer second.. never had a BB, but its fine the way it is i guess.. just needs more power and more improved OS.
Amen to that. They really do need more power thats something BB and nokia been missing.

For the time being, I have gone back to the 2.13 release.  Even with that, I am still experiencing the screen freeze ups where I cannot unlock the screen.  Back in Denver on TMO 3G full time again.
Not sure what is going on.  Hope my hardware is not flaking out.
Seriously??? My HD2 its sooo stable for now.
