Galaxy S II / Re: Tmo GSII NenaMark2 score = 54.5 fps!
« on: November 14, 2011, 12:18:21 am »
Thats every smartphone.. Even PC's.. On my current (2008) desktop, I have 3GB of RAM, BUT I only get 2.5ish GB to use.. The reason its NEVER spot on is because some of that RAM is allotted specifically for the system/OS.. But 784MB for the user is plenty. I wish I had that amount on my G2, which has 512MB of RAM, BUT only 367MB left for the user. But when I boot my phone with all the apps and services after startup, i'm left with about 120ish MB.. Its really sad. I can't wait for my next phone.
I feel your pain before this phone I had the Nexus one and I always had to keep apps limited since I only had like 20mb of space free and the browser would take those 20mb every other day I had to clear the data and cache of all the apps. Im alittle upset that mobile industry is moving so fast that your g2 looks like an antique which that's not the case. I barely have this phone for three weeks and quad-core is already coming freaking crazy!

Galaxy S II / Re: Is the battery supposed to be like this?
« on: November 13, 2011, 08:42:58 pm »
11 hours of battery on heavy use? I would kill for eleven hours of battery. I got up at 6 in the morning and by the time I was at work around 8:30 I was down to 50%! What the heck are you doing with yours?
Yeah 11hrs "if I'm lucky" so i usually get 6-8hrs, things you can do is:

Turn off WIFI,Bluetooth,GPS off if your not using none of those features
make sure you have the Display on Auto brightness
there's a setting called power saving mode turn that on
if you see your phone switching 4g to 2g all the time thats a big battery drain
turn 4g off to 2g if your not using the browsing the web or streaming
or get a battery, or return it and go with another blackberry
or maybe you have navigation on all the time.

If you dont mind bulk you can buy this: http://power-skin.com/battery-cases/ap1515hert/samsung-galaxy-s-tmobile.html

I'm disappointed that the GSII only has 784MB of ram available out of a 1GB

Galaxy S II / Re: Will Samsung Galaxy SII get Icecream Sandwich update?
« on: November 13, 2011, 03:33:06 pm »
I would give it close to a year if we are lucky. samsung sells a **** load of devices that are the same but even one button change means doing a whole different update for it. Let alone carriers will delay this **** even more! I really dislike android for this,  if it wasn't because of the killer deal I got for the GSII I would be on the WP7 wagon or galaxy Nexus. leave it google to drop the ball with ICS not updating 65% of android users who use a core device.

Well Blackberry have always been good at battery consumption since they have such a low powered processor, OS is a little rusty that doesn't use much power. The other thing you have a giant screen that consumes power like crazy the list goes on. all I can say is welcome to the 2012 smartphone game I get barely 11hr of battery on my GSII under heavy use (not streaming video) if I'm lucky. My suggestion buy a extra battery since I don't think this problem will go away any time soon only apple has some what tweak their OS to save battery power but even then ppl still complain.

Nexus One / Re: Best Nexus One case?
« on: December 22, 2010, 12:24:27 pm »
I barely bought my nexus one I got it for 300 on ebay new I was thinking of getting the nexus S but I didnt think it was worth the 2 year contract. I think something better might come this summer so I wanted to hold on and get the nexus one and maybe sell my hd2(or give it to my mom). Any how long story short I cant find a real carbon fiber case any one knows where I can buy one for my nexus one? thanks.

Apple / Re: iPhone Headed To T-Mobile USA in 2010/2011?
« on: December 07, 2010, 01:27:36 pm »
I have the feeling that apple its going to have a deal with verizon & AT&T where ATT gets a color and verizon gets another or it could be small difference in looks. Apple are very greedy people and having the top 2 US carriers makes then nearly impossible to beat them. Or apple would have an agreement that apple doesn't deal with ATT but that can't stop them from selling a unlock Iphones including T-mobile but would that be consider monopolizing? but I dont think apple wants to let go of the power of having verizon and ATT and I'm sure if apple tell verizon to jump they will jump I think their calling the shots not verizon.

I don't think I can put up with my hd2 stock or hd2 android (no matter what android) battery its horrible I get 8 hr of normal use if I'm lucky. I was debating a dell venue pro, galaxy S or a nokia n8 but if battery still a issue its not worth getting stuck for 2 years or paying 500 bucks. Back to the subject this might help people http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801666&highlight=stock

actually.. if Verizon is payin to block competitors (Tmo & Sprint), the FTC might hit them with Anti-trust laws.
Verizon can do that thats why theirs exclusivity deals all the time.

Nexus S / Re: Nexus S

Nexus S / Re: Nexus S
« on: November 29, 2010, 04:23:42 pm »
Since it carries the word "Nexus" developers will jump on it.....  the biggest downfall is that there is no 4G/HSPA+ support. I really think samsung should've taken their time and shoulda waited for the updated chipset which support 4G.

On teh contrary, I don't blme them because since Galaxy S was such a major HIT, they want to keep that momentum going with this Nexus S, I suppose?

Hah, kinda reminds me when the first iphone came out and everyone bashed it not being a 3G phone, LAWL
I think the build quality of the g2 will be superior from the nexus S even though I'm hoping its not. Maybe it will be appealing for developers. I really Wish Nokia would put their hardware for another platforms The E7 hardware look so amazing if it had stock android a snapdragon processor it will shut the android game I think but maybe I'm just high on nokias looks. Right now the only android appealing to me is the dell thunder, the acer that was just announce, htc legend and the moto defy always nice to have a rugged phone

Nexus S / Re: Nexus S
« on: November 22, 2010, 06:23:07 pm »
You guys can murder me but I think the Nexus S its no where near a upgrade for the nexus 1. All specs are really just a refresh maybe a little faster CPU more Ram better screen resolution same crappy battery on every high end device. Seems like they just grabbed what ever they had and they made this it doesn't seem like they wanted to innovate the way N1 did. NO higher camera with better optics I think they didn't do HDMI out I dont use much but nice to have.Battery damn I want a better battery I'm tired of battery power seriously. Maybe I'm just jumping too fast maybe when I try it it would be the best thing ever.

HD2 / Re: Android build that works on stock T-mobile ROM?
« on: October 12, 2010, 01:15:22 am »
I dont know why you guys call it rooting back in the days it was flashing a rom LOL. I was running elegancia Rom on my hd2 but I got tired of things not been fully working. I went through one MS exchange issue with the custom rom the main thing that did for me believe or not was the camera. My GF hd2 stock vs my hd2 custom rom camera performance was a fail on my custom rom. I don't really own carry cameras around so I rely on my phones camera to take decent pictures and with the custom rom its was really bad performance.

Im getting this one for sure I was not feeling the hd7 since its almost like a hd2 but now that they announce the dell lighting this put windows phone 7 in another ball game. I will still keep my hd2 as a back up for tether but this phone gotta be mine!

I don't own Any of this 2 devices And I think it all steps down to hardware keyword. Only cellphone fanatics will jump on this device and leave their vibrant. In my personal opinion it would be hard to decide but I think I would stay with the vibrant since their nothing to envy on the g2 other than a qwerty and stock froyo.
