Customer Service / T-Mobile as the "bring your own device" carrier
« on: March 16, 2012, 08:59:15 am »
With T-Mobile's spectrum refarm, supporting the iPhone at full data speeds without "officially" carrying the iPhone is an actual possibility. Now, they just need to market themselves correctly as the "bring your own device and use it with our half-price monthly service” wirelss carrier. Imagine the following commercial:

Have Carly and some "AT&T Guy" on screen with the following conversation:

AT&T Guy - "I just bought this new iPhone for $200 from AT&T!"

Carly - "That seems like a pretty good deal since it would have cost $650 to buy it straight out, but how much are you paying a month?"

AT&T Guy - "$139.99 a month for unlimited talk, text, and web."

Carly - "On T-Mobile, you'd only be paying $74.99 per month for the same plan. After just 7 months you'd have already made back that $450 difference and still have 17 months of savings left on that 2 year contract."

AT&T Guy - "Darn, I wish I had done basic math."

Windows Phone 7 / Re: HIGH END WP7.5 DEVICE PLEASE!!
« on: January 18, 2012, 12:40:18 pm »
I've heard people say that an unlocked Lumia 900 should work on T-Mobile, including 3G/4G. Now that the specs for the Lumia 900 are available, can anyone confirm if that is true? The specs page is available at:

http://www.nokia.com/us-en/products/phone/lumia900/specifications

The bands that are listed are:

GSM 850
GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 1900
WCDMA Band V 850
LTE Band 17 (700)
WCDMA Band I 2100
WCDMA Band II 1900
WCDMA Band VIII 900
LTE Band 4 (1700/2100)

Is LTE Band 4 (1700/2100) the same as UMTS Band 4?
