Sorry, I read the Screenshot wrong

I am suprised that no one besides me has figured out a big mistake by T-Mobile in one of the leaked pictures. Look at the 4th picture on this page:

http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/10/17/project-dark-confirmed-to-include-unlimited-plans-flexpay/

This is a screen shot from Watson when a new line is being activated.  The plans highlighted in pink are the new ones, while there are still some data only plans mixed in with them.  The plans are listed from lowest to highest, so even though the prices are blocked out, if you know the prices of the existing plans on there you can figure out the prices of the new plans.......

"Monthly BB BIS&BES", "Monthly BB BIS Int Svc", "Monthly Tot Int Plan", and "Monthly VPN Tot Int" are $39.99

"Monthly SK Web&Msg300" is $44.99

"Monthly SK Wed&MSG Unl" is $54.99

"Monthly BB MinMail BIS" is $59.99

I noticed that, but there is really nothing to indicate that they are listed in price order.

They are...

So even more plus is supposed to be a no contract plan, but what I see it as is actually a lifelong contract plan.
Once you sign up for Even More Plus your number can't be ported to another provider for switched to Tmobiles regular Even More plan.

What??? You can port your number to another provider from any sort of plan....

How does flexpay no-contract have eip? I dont get it cuz it doesnt require a SSN so how would they get ur credit for no pay?

Also, Whats going to happen with current contracts? Will they be ripped up or do they have do still do those.

Current contracts will stay in tact, I dont know how they will migrate things going forward, we'll have to wait and see all the detail on that...

As for FP monthly, they are not eligible for EIP at all.  They will have to pay full price for a phone still, unless they actually do change that and give them an EIP credit line (I doubt it).  Flexpay annual gets a $100 EIP credit line after having the account with good payment history for at least 1 year.

Also, here's a prediction:  T-Mob will have a bunch of 14-day returns, because people who want to pay $50 won't tolerate their service.

T-Mobile has similar or better coverage than AT&T and Sprint in most areas. They are even #1 in some areas.  They will not be getting a lot of returns due to coverage, their coverage is definately on par with the other national carriers.

Does the EIP for 20 mnths also mean that you need good credit as well? Or will they have to pay a deposit?

Flexpay activations won't be eligible for it, they will have the same process just new rate plans.

PD has nothing to do with the iphone, or any phone launch for that matter.  Or HSPA+ or 4G either......

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see how it would be possible to spread out the cost of a device over 20 months and not be under contract.

Otherwise, I could take the device, pay $7.50 for the first month, port my number away and sell the device on ebay for a hefty profit.

There won't be a normal ETF, but you will be responsible for paying the remainder of the phone price. So essentially there is still a contract just not a normal 2 year contract with a $200 ETF.

He's pretty damn spot on, from what I've heard and contracts, we don't need no stinkin contracts!

They're doing away with contracts completely?!

Imagine all the people that signed the data portion of the contract to get the G1/myTouch/TP2, and this happens.

That's a good point, how is this going to work for the people that have contracted data features now?

BTW I forgot to mention something with that Post I made this morning about the new sim cards, they gave an example of a screenshot and it showed the sim as a "3G" sim.  So I guess the new ones are going to be 4G sims?!

New info just posted regarding PD!!

Non-impacting CAM and SIM Card Changes
Beginning October 25, Retail Sales Associates (RSAs) may notice the following non-impacting changes that are being made to support our ability to offer future services:

A new SIM Type field will show in the Subscriber Detail screen in CAM.
SIM cards delivered after October 25 will have a slightly different look.
Because these changes are to support future services only, customers will not be affected and no RSA action will be required.

Action Steps

Disregard the new SIM Type field in CAM and be aware it is only populating to support possible future services.
Be aware that SIM cards may look slightly different but nothing is changing.

OK lets go over what we know for an absolute fact so far.  T-Mobile has had employees that know about this to sign NDA's, they will need all of their technicians working on Sunday 10/25, there will be an employee meeting for several hours this sunday, there will be new uniforms by the end of this month, and retail employees will have to go to the store several hours early on the morning of 10/25 for a major change for whatever Project Dark is.

Now, the technicians may not be working on cell sites, there was a time I think either early this year or last year that they sent a technician to every store to make sure that system changes that went in effect were deployed properly. So this could be another case where they are sending a technician to every store to help with some kind of system change or installation of new hardware.  Along with the technicians, retail employees will have to come in several hours before store opening on 10/25 to prepare for this, so there is definately something changing with the retail stores.  Thats about as much as I can conclude from this point though.  Only things that I am almost positive of are that it is not a rate plan change or any type of merger.

Maybe there is some type of change coming to the retail stores themselves that will draw in more customers somehow?  I had speculated before that this might be the launch of Samson (customer care's system) in retail stores to give retail reps more capabilities to help the customers, but that's not going to drive a ton of new subscribers into the stores, no one really cares about a system change besides the employees using it.  So they cant be making this big of a deal about a change with our systems since customers wouldn't care....

They must be installing something new into the retail stores that's going to drive in new customers.  It has to be this because they are having all of their technicians scheduled, they are having us begin wearing new uniforms, they're having a long meeting with the retail employees and having us come in early to set this up on 10/25... it must be something new coming to the retail stores.  Although this very well could be a new phone launch and they are just having us set up a new display for it.... N900?? iPhone 3GS??? I dont know what phone launch besides one of these would require NDAs!!

All I know is this is driving me crazy!!!!!

Here we go! Some statements directly from T-Mobile themselves on the TV on phones and earlier unlimited nights:

Television via handset
(AK.428)
Customers are requesting T-Mobile provide the feature of watching television over handsets.
Closed: iDO and Marketing have extensively researched this option and found that not only would it not be financially feasible at this time, but through usability studies discovered few customers (and potential customers) are actually interested in watching TV on a small screen device. Additionally, TV on a handset, with current technology, does not perform well.

We are not ruling out TV on devices as a future option but our company is working to deliver more features and applications that a mobile phone user would find more useful based on consumer research.

Inform customers we have studied the option but are not offering this service in the near future.
Provide customers with information regarding our great handsets like the myTouch and associated apps that make using this handset a unique and fun experience.

7 p.m. nights and weekends
(AK.102)
Customers want nights to start at 7 p.m. instead of 9 p.m.
Closed: T-Mobile has the best calling rates among the major national carriers, even with our 9pm nights. Also, we offer unique calling plans like myFaves. We do not believe offering 7 p.m. nights and simply imitating what other carriers offer is the right approach to differentiating ourselves in the market.

Advise customers we have several rate plans available that we can use to right fit them into the best possible plan. Call Handling > Call Support > Job Aids > Resolution Toolkit by Call Type: General Care

I called up my friend and he said something about activeX installation that has been going on at every retail store and corporate store for something ( he used a technical term). He said thats all he knows for now.

Interesting.... I noticed the day for all the employees to be scheduled was a sunday, which is odd for any big launch.  The only thing they do on sundays is launch system enhancements, since they do maintenence to the systems on saturday nights.

What I think it may be is the launch of Samson in the retail stores.  Samson is the system that customer care uses and gives reps a lot more capabilities for doing things on customer's accounts than Watson (the current system used in retail stores).  They have also started installing Samson in retail stores in certain test markets, and they have been talking for some time about giving us all of the capabilities that customer care has.  Everything I've seen so far seems to point to this.

All I know for sure is that something big is supposedly going down soon.  The market managers know about it but they're not saying anything yet...

T-Mobile Services / Re: How To get Out Of The New "Required" Data Plan
« on: October 08, 2009, 08:24:15 pm »
Has anyone confirmed that this (buy dumbphone / upgrade / return) works ?? Any problems with Smartphone ETF ??

I just recently had a customer that did this, and when we are processing the upgrade, the system has us switch it to the non-contracted data feature, which can then be removed at any time.  This process definately works, and there is no ETF unless you cancel the whole line.

They should get it anyways even so. Doesnt FLO TV have their own band network. I thought they broadcast in the upper 700s according to the wiki. This wouldnt be streaming from their network. All 3 major providers have this feature & still have it & are deploying it slowly. Couldnt T-Mobile do the same even tho they say not many would be interested in it. What I dont get is what ive said already all 3 networks have it why not them? The answer is not acceptable. Now for Video Calling AT&T is like the only one who has it but their network is crippled & they have double the speed than all networks. But T-Mobile is installing HSPA+ which can do 10 to 12 Mbps. Which phones have seen at 500k more in speed since they dont support full 21.  N laptop cards can get another 1M to 1.5M off this. So isnt it a good time to launch this service? Now for one that isnt mentioned Push-To-Talk all networks have this. You see it too popular on Sprint/Nextel/Boost. Why cant T-Mobile get this too like the others? Where is postpaids 7pm Nights & Weekends. They have seemed to do this for pre-paid. Why not postpaid & flexpay customers? Where is Myfaves 2.0 where it changed MyFaves 5 to 10? Will this all come when they launch LTE? You know LTE does alot of bandwidth it wouldnt cripple the network at all.

There is an article on Streamline for care and retail reps called "Attack Customer Disatisfaction" that has explanations for virtually everything you've listed and why we're not doing them. Generally the answer to everything is that they don't feel it will be a big reason for customers to leave and they are more focused on other things such as more whenever minutes on the plans for example. They can't beat the competition by trying to catch up to everything they're doing. They need to have their own image, and right now they are the "value" carrier.

They just recently said that they researched the idea of having tv on the phones, but they don't feel that most customers are interested enough in it, and the cost and strain on the network wouldn't be worth it.
