Samsung Discussion / is t469 useless for java apps?
« on: August 08, 2010, 11:58:48 am »
recently upgraded to t469 especially because it claims to run java apps.
have tried to install several - all are ssh clients - entire point for me is to be able to connect remotely to some of my servers.
found a commercial product - pader-sync.com - that has a 'signed' .jad - http://www.pader-sync.com/padersyncSSH.jad
using OTA installation it says "Application Authentication failure" and won't install at all.
found couple of opensource ssh clients - with unsigned .jad or even downloading the .jar directly - probably because they are 'untrusted' once they try to connect get "Application not authorized to access the restricted API"
have been unable to find a way to mark the .jar files as 'trusted' - even when i have the source to the application, and i build it, and i put it on MY phone - why is this phone so useless at running even a simple java app?
is it pointless to try and use the t469 for any app that doesn't come from the t-mobile 'store' ? and they don't carry a ssh client... what's the use in that?
any help greatly appreciated.
