myTouch 4G / Re: Can I use Alternate Launcher on MT4G

Thanks--I appreciate the responses; however, I came up with an alternate solution.  I bought a Nexus S.  ;D

myTouch 4G / Can I use Alternate Launcher on MT4G
« on: March 04, 2011, 02:15:12 pm »
Greetings!  I recently bought a G2 because I wanted the physical keyboard; however, since downloading the Gingerbread keyboard, I never use it. I'd much rather carry something that feels like my Nexus One rather than the G2 (although it might come in handy in self defense situations). I'm not big on widgets except for a couple toggles and the Beautiful Widget home. Can I use Launcher Pro and just bypass the Sense if I choose?  Thanks!

Nexus One / Re: Browser Closing on its own

I finally got this one figured out. It was closing on any page that contained Flash. I deleted the Flash app and reinstalled. No more problem.

Nexus One / Browser Closing on its own
« on: December 24, 2010, 09:42:13 am »
I first noticed this yesterday. When I open up a link in Twitter, the page will display for a few seconds, then it closes and goes back to the Twitter app. I thought it had something to do with Tweetcaster but now it's happening even when I open the browser directly.  I downloaded Opera Mini just as a test and it works fine.  Any ideas?  TIA.

So I guess the answer to this thread is now: try Ebay or Craigslist.  Glad I acted when I did!

EDIT: Never mind, just figured it out .. need a EM plan for the google phone.  Setup an account with T-Mobile, waiting for the sim to activate and then order N1.

You set up an account with T-Mobile BEFORE ordering the phone? I'm afraid that's bass ackwards. You set up the account by ordering the phone on Google. You have to order a new line of service through Google to get the $179 price.

Would this procedure work if I even cancel the line that I opened in step 1.  I want to get the N1 but due to my family plan, I'm not eligible.  Can't open a new line in my wife's name through Google because she doesn't have a SSN.  T-Mobile will open an account in her name with a deposit.  Could I then use that to order a N1 from Google with a new line2, cancel line2, keep the N1 hoping that the 150 ERF doesn't come through and then cancel line1 with T-Mo.

This is exactly what I did but there was no deposit required. I got the bill today for her canceled account--$7.83. That took my total cost just over $200 (pending ERF)

All things Android / Acessing Google Apps with G1 with WiFi Only
« on: July 15, 2010, 11:06:18 pm »
I gave my G1 to another member of my family plan to use on a line without a data plan. I activated it on my sim but signed into his google account. After syncing his contacts, I took out my sim and he put in his.  Everything is working great, and can browse the net over WiFi, but he cant sync his contacts or use any of the other Google apps.  Does anyone know of a workaround for this?  Thanks!

I got mine this morning and it was on 2G.

I got the phone today and called to cancel. The first guy was ready to battle. He told me I had to call Google first, and that there would be a $200 charge if I didn't return the phone. I waited 30 minutes and called again, this time with Google's Terms of Sale sitting on my monitor; however, I didn't need to refer to it. The CSR didn't give me any grief and he told me that my account would roll off their system within a couple of hours. I'll be getting a bill for under $10.

OH by the way, I love this phone! ;D
