This is exciting.  I been reading this thread since post #1 and am  ready to retire my Treo Pro b/c of small screen but It was/still is a good phone.   Hey Housetek i'm available for full upgrade and am on 24.99 data plan.  Will they make me go up to the $30 plan for upgrade price?  my dad is on $10 web2go and I'm automatically assuming they will want him to move up to $30 data plan to get upgrade price.  Wonder if they would work me a deal or something since we've been with Tmob since 1999(previously suncom)

If you don't have an Even More plan, it's actually $25/month. If you're buying the phone with your dad's upgrade, or he's buying the phone, yes, he will have to move up to the $25/month smartphone data plan for the subsidized price. But if he buys it outright for $449, he wouldn't have to give up his web2go. Then again, if I'm paying $449 for a phone, I'd just go out and buy the Nexus One which isn't too much more and comes with a nicer OS with dev support.

Thanks for the info.  Me and my dad are actually on unlimited loyalty for families.  I currently have 24.99 data for smartphones and he has the 9.99 100mb data that works with his HTC tytn, I said web2go earlier sorry about that.  So will they let us 24.99 data instead of $30 data package?  if so that would be nice

I used to be with old suncom network so I never had access to T-zones.  I have current total internet plan so I cant help ya there, but if you knwo all the settings and such and if it worked with the wing then it should work with the treo pro.

Tech Hotline / Re: NO signal strength at my residence - have NOT moved.
« on: November 05, 2008, 11:04:12 am »
about the sim card thing....I always have a problem while switching towers.  I've had a treo 750 and now a treo pro made by htc and both of them 9 times out of 10 will drop a call whenever i switch towers.  Its kind of annoying.  I have a suncom sim card, but have a brand new tmobile sim sitting in a folder as a backup.  I also have problems at my house wehre i live.  its always fluctuates from 1-2 bars and sometimes loses signal in my house.  Where i live on coverage map is decent signal but not great ,but not the worst.  If i go 200 yards down the street there is good signal, but there is also lots of hills here in Birmingham.  You guys think I should try the new sim?? or call customer service and see if they have something goin on?  I know when sucom/tmobile merger was going on i had the worst signal ever and dropped calls every 5 minutes for about 3 weeks, buts its much better now.  anyway thanks!

yeah i'm pretty happy with the treo pro.  Much more zippy than my old 750.  It has a 320x320 just like the old palm OS treos and a flush screen  ;D .  I know a lot of people complain about the centro like keyboard, but actually i'm making less mistakes with it than i did on my 750 keyboard and i'm kind of a fan of the gel keys too.  oh yeah its really slim so it doesnt bulge in my pocket like my 750 did so i'm real ecstatic about that and for the fact about fingerprints on the phone, yes it does get pretty dirty but i dont mind.  Have a good one folks.  :o

T-Mobile Services / opening up of T-zones?
« on: September 25, 2008, 10:15:06 pm »
I'm a little confused about this.  So if i had the cheapo tzones web plan right now does that mean that next month I'll be able to get everthing just like the 20 dollar internet plan?????? and if so will it be edge speed or slow wap speed? Any comments would be interesting to hear. Thanks!

I just hope that my service gets better after the transition.  I was getting way better service while I was roaming on T-mobile......Att is the other here, but my phone rarley connects to ATT.  Tmobile is the preferred roaming partner in my treo.

I am a suncom person.  I been roaming here in Birmingham since Febuary and I've had decent service on my Treo, bout 2 bars most of the time, but about 3-4 weeks ago my signal and service has gotten awful.  The house I live in drops calls like crazy where before it would only drop rarely and remember in birmingham we have a lot of hills here so the service goes in and out in a lot places.  I was wondering if this transition period for suncom was affecting my service cause I got way better service when I was roaming and by the way my phone now says tmobile and not partner but still has the triangle indicating roaming, but anyway could it be the towers are messed up or something? i'm gona wait till monday when the transition is complete to start calling about it.

oh yeah also on this website I found on suncoms site is pretty informative.  They say they have been adding towers and increasing capacity to suncom region every since the acquisition started.  Have a look and see. http://www.verygoodday.info/

I think my phone is supposed to start saying t-mobile by sept the 5th but who knows.  I know on suncom site it has all special offers good until sept. 4th so i'm guessing thats when the billing system will take over and such.  Also suncom rep on phone told me around 8th or 9th about 3 weeks ago, all i know is it will happen very soon.

T-mobile 3G / 3G for newly acquired Suncom region in Carolinas and TN
« on: August 19, 2008, 09:29:34 pm »
Anybody heard anything on the matter if T-mob is gonna get the old suncom region 3g services rolling after the initial rollout slated for oct 1? I'm sure they would benefit from at least getting charlotte online since its a big city, then hopefully my neck of the woods up in Tri-Cities TN/VA.
