Upcoming Phones / Re: Upcoming Phone Release Dates (v33)
« on: September 12, 2012, 08:50:47 pm »
Today, 9/12/12...I learned of Nokia's 820 & 920 (WP8) being released "soon". Supposedly, At&T will get the 920, with the 820 going to TMo & someone else.
I'm sooooo glad I didn't "fall" for the 710, being that none..NONE of the WP7 phones were allowed to Port-Up to 8 (even the 900). Shame on Nokia & Microsoft for such a "Business Deal"...allowing these customers to be thrown-under-the-Bus.
I'm intrested in the 820, but simply have to get-over my mistrust of (these) companies.

Apple / Re: The Best Way to Protect iPhone 4S Screen?

Loverain: I take it-from your question-that you are using your Verison/ATT  4S with T Mobile..right?
Did everything "transfer" alright? Sure would like to do the same.

Nokia Lumia 710 / Re: Nokia Lumia 710 Windows Upgrade?
« on: July 29, 2012, 11:37:27 pm »
60 Day-Update. According to CNet (June 20, 2012 actually)..neither the 710, 800 OR the 900 will be receiving the WP8 Upgrade. I tried to spread-the-word months ago...but to little avail.
7.8 upgrade for current units will come close...but no cigar.

Nokia Discussion / Re: Help: Where sell Fix Screen of Lumia 800?

1. Ebay.ca (Canada)
2. Google "Lumia 800 parts"
3. Duhhhh...

So if the iPhone starts looking more and more like Android phones can we assume that the Android manufacturers will start suing Apple for every little thing?
Ohhh, that's a good one...

Speaking only for myself, I totally understand what you're wanting.

Just hung-up speaking with CSR. He says Galaxy Note will be "presented" this October 26.

Windows Phone 7 / Re: Should I get Radar or Lumia?
« on: January 29, 2012, 11:53:30 am »
Wait. The 710 ALSO has a front-facing camera; the Lumia 800 does not.  For me..I prefer the Hard-Keys versus the Capacitive. But, that's me....
Next to my old Nokia Moron 5230..these two phones have teeny-tiny keyboards!  AND..sse that PlasticShell Crease-line across the bottom of the Radar? That's the first place trash will go to!

Don't know if (they) are always crap..but for me..I  can't stand anything pushed-down into my ear lobes..which means, ofcourse...I have to use over-the-ear. My chest-drawers have about 10 unused pairs of "ear-lobe" headphones.

Nokia Lumia 710 / Nokia Lumia 710 Windows Upgrade?
« on: January 17, 2012, 01:15:28 pm »
Just asked a TMobile Store Manager (been with TMobile for over 10 years) if he thought the new Lumia 710 would be selected/available for an upgrade when the new Windows 8 arrives this year.
His answer: "...well, I remember when the H2 owners were "promised" WP7, but they never received it. The same was true about H7 eventually receiving Mango 2.2..but they didn't get that.
So, based on Microsoft's history..it doesn't look good for (them) Porting WP8 down-to Lumia 710.."
Whoa!

Tech Hotline / Re: switching from loyalty plan to prepaid account
« on: August 31, 2011, 04:19:42 pm »
Been thinking of Prepaid, myself. One thing, for sure...an understated Oxymoron is using the words, TMobile & Loyalty in one sentence.
I remember the days, when (they) actually seemed to care.

Customer Service / Re: Reaching a Rep in the US
« on: April 24, 2011, 10:13:35 am »
Wow..you guys must be calling the wrong number. I wait a MAXIMUM of like 3-5 minutes. Usually almost instantaneous. Never had a foreign rep.

The Number given on TMobile's Website under "Contact Us By Phone" is 1-877-746-0909. Try it. Keep a Stopwatch handy...and, uhhh...be honest in your reporting....

They are starting to use call centers in the Philippines. Found this out this weekend. My wifes hairdressers husband owns call centers and was in the Philippines for a few weeks setting up T mobile with this. Why because its much cheaper they said. Good old USA, outsource everything.

That is Correctamundo!  Just this morning-4/22/11- I "tricked" a CSR into confessing what I had suspected for a week or so: TMob is using the same CallCenter in Manila as HewlettPackard. This particular CSR asked me how I detected the Phillipines. I told him, it was simple: Cheap-Bankok-style Music while waiting on-hold! (when you've spent as much time as I did in VietNam...Asian "wanta-be-WesternMusic has a particular Sound to it, that is unmistakable.

Just purchased a new HP Printer. A-L-L  CS goes straight to India. And yes...when they say,"...I need to consult with my Supervisor..." that's code for finding-the-right-page!

T-Mobile Services / Re: $9.99 data plan, what phones work
« on: April 09, 2010, 07:35:42 am »
Two more phones work with the 9.99 plan- TMobile Shadow and  Shadow2.
After handling both...I can understand reports of the Slide-Down not being as firm-feeling as the Samsung Slide-Downs. Actually, both were surprisingly loosey-goosey.
p.s. biggest difference between Shadow and Shadow2 is Wi-fi. oops! did I mention Mobile 6.0 ?

Nokia Discussion / Re: Nokia Nuron (5230)
« on: March 27, 2010, 07:40:56 pm »
To CheapLikeAFox: The only item checked/highlighted in the Checkout process was the 10.00
Web Fee.  After I got the unit up&Running...I called TMobile Customer Care to make sure
everything is/was OK.  The CSR didn't even bring-up my plan.  Quote: "looks like you're good-to-go", Mr. Rogers....".
So far-so good.  p.s.  the single-tap (Main Ikons) versus double-tap on Web Sub-headings doesn't bother me at all. I don't even think about it.

Nokia Discussion / Re: Nokia Nuron (5230)
« on: March 26, 2010, 11:16:31 pm »
Picked-up my Sam's Club Nuron mail-order yesterday. Am up and on the 10.00  Web.  OK...it's a little slow, but just my speed, I guess.  Thank God, the battery gave it a bit more weight than the TMobile store-dummy.
I would prefer to have the smoked-grey, but I can make this silver/cream work (dang! I can't believe I just wrote that!). Oh yes, before I left the Sam's Phone area...I did a sidebyside of my
Nuron to both the Cliq XT and the Behold II.
No kidding...the ACTUAL viewing area of the Nuron...just "eyeballing it"...was approx. 1/4" longer than the ACTUAL viewing of the BeholdII and nearly 3/8" longer than the CliqXT ! Try it for yourself ! NOTE: I didn't say Wider...I said Longer.
The only skins available in the Club/Store were Black. I'm holding-off for a Grey, which would better match the cream-colored face.
Even with the battery and the skin...it's still much lighter in weight and that, to me , is a downside.
Scrolling Webpages has to be done over to one side, which with the somewhat, narrower screen..
makes sense, because, in that way...you can better see whats "passing by".
Oh yes...Ovi Turn-by-Turn Directions is every bit as good as they say...and then some!
This phone has what my 6133 has: Absolutely Clear-Sounding Calls.
Oh yes, my contract was up, so I got this for FREE on the Sam's Club Website.
Monday Morning...I am definitely ordering the Bluetooth Headset.

According to CNet.Reviews...it was  TMob's  Nokia 6301 that started this HotSpot@Home.
Ugly, but still a darn good phone for utilitarians!
