Customer Service / Re: account suspended question
« on: November 18, 2009, 02:42:46 pm »
yeah, i agree about calling in. my account was suspended about 5 years ago and i was able to set up a payment plan. i don't know if things have changed, but while i was making payments, my line was still suspended.

Samsung Android / Re: Stop hatin on the BEHOLOD 2 ------- READ WHY
« on: November 16, 2009, 11:21:10 am »
the only thing that bothers me is how the menu tab is off to the left of the screen (like their other touchwiz phones). when one is swiping from homescreen to homescreen (left to right), i can imagine a few people accidentally opening the menu tab every once in a while.

Cliq Discussion / Re: CLIQ Will Not Vibrate

What negative hardware issues?
i heard that the trackpad is slightly leaning to the left, some of the chrome and the area with "t-mobile" written on it either clicks or shifts.

Most 3G handsets get pretty warm.

As for the vibrate issue did you try toggling the side Vibrate/Loud Button on the Cliq? (It is on the left top side of the Cliq).
yeah, i tried. it was definitely defective. he even downloaded the ring toggle app.
we returned it and then went to the store and picked up a new one. it's completely different. for example:
the cliq vibrates when it's powered on, my brother's didn't
the cliq vibrates when one holds down on a widget, my brother's didn't
the cliq vibrates when the silent switch is put in the down position, my brother's didn't

thanks to everyone for your help. it's been a crazy weekend, trying to figure out if my brother's phone was indeed defective (it's our first time using android, so we didn't know if android had some other smart way of putting the phone into vibrate), trying to find a ups open late enough for us to ship/obtain a tracking number (luckily, staples has a ups inside), and driving to the store the following day to get a new exchange. phew!

i'm headed to the store tomorrow to get a blackberry 9700. with all the negative hardware issues i've been reading about it, i hope i'm not in for another journey!

oh i see. thanks for the info. i'll keep that in mind. this is my brother's first smartphone. heck, even i've never used a smartphone before, so we didn't know what to expect (i'm picking up the bold 9700 next week). having the vibrate go out on any phone is a major woe.

yes, it got really, really hot. do you think it's honestly correlated? is there a chance the new cliq will have the same problem? i called t-mobile and they're allowing us to pick up at a store tomorrow.

Some phones have overheating problems which can cause the vibrate to stop working. I've had a few devices vibrate not work due to an overheating problem or its just defected so take it back to the store.
thanks for the reply. i guess i'll have to exchange it. he even downloaded the ring toggle app and it didn't work, hard reset and software update. it sucks because we ordered it online, so now we have to wait for them to ship us a new one.

Cliq Discussion / CLIQ Will Not Vibrate
« on: November 14, 2009, 03:46:05 am »
my brother just got his cliq today and it will not vibrate. he went into the ringer/notification settings and under the two sections (i think one is for when the silent button is switched), he has "vibrate" checked. the vibrate icon shows up at the top of the screen as well, but still nothing. is there another option he's overlooking? thanks in advance.
