too bad the Whitestone and TD2 have smaller screens then the Touch HD. :(

i believe the Whitestone is CDMA. the TD2 will not come to T-Mo.

so the answer is no. sorry.

It's safe to say that as quickly as T-Mobile can move on up with it's network, it's years down the road for us. They are nowhere in an earshot of Verizon or ATT for launching LTE. LTE is a data network from my understanding, so does it not make sense to keep 2G for it's voice because it's 3G footprint is still nowhere where they would like it to be.

T-Mobile will launch LTE around the same time as the other carriers do. probably after Verizon but before At&t. Verizon plans on launching LTE next year, and At&t wants to launch it in 2012 i believe. T-Mobile's equiptment is MUCH newer than both At&t's and Verizons so the transition to LTE will be much easier and quicker.

im glad t-mobile passed on the Hero. it has superb software and pretty good specs but the hardware and its "power" are horrific. the phone is way too sluggish. also, its fatter than my Grandmother. and it has a chin longer than Jay Leno's.

how about HTC makes an update to the Touch HD, puts Android, AWS and a T-Mobile logo on it and ships it our way?

wow now if only the screen was larger...

i know what you mean! look at Verizons Moto Android phone.
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/07/30/motorola-sholes-android-phone-headed-for-verizon/

if that phone had a GSM radio with Wi-Fi (UMA too but i dont use it) and AWS with a T-Mobile USA logo, i'd buy it in a heartbeat. it looks nearly flawless and it has fantastic specs. i wish the Morrison looked like that!

How about this one?:
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/07/29/t-mobile-announces-htc-touch-pro2-for-august-12-availability/

Wouldn't you know it, I check Engadget like an obsessed maniac all day long and I missed that one.  Nice!

Nothing new but it definitely gives August 12th even more credibility.  They did have one interesting thing to add, the color is "mocha".

Here is another very official confirmation:  http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/home/permalink/?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20090728006495&newsLang=en

what tmonews hasnt said anything yet.....
I cant believe tmonews didnt say anything about it yet....Tmonews use to be the first one to tell you something about the phones and other stuff

being a blogger myself at TMoToday, i can say that its very difficult to put articles up every second. All bloggers do their best to give the readers all the info they want, when they want it but we can always. We got lives you know. :)

TmoNews is no different then other tech sites. There have been many times where they dont get the blog article up until later. I'm sure by morning either Mystictrust or Darkjedi will have it up.

MyTouch 3G / Re: My Touch on deck!!!!
« on: July 28, 2009, 12:56:03 am »
The Touch Pro2 has a 3.6 inch screen which is one hell of an advantage over the myTouch 3G.

And though I absolutely love Android, HTC TF3D makes WinMo look fabulous. Which is why i think in terms of software, they're basically equivalent.

I'd probably take the Touch Pro2 because of the larger screen and physical keyboard (which i may add is the best keyboard ever on a cell phone!).

The myTouch 3G is nice too because of the Android Marketplace and its sleekness. It comes down to personal needs/wants.

Congrats, VTC_GUY! :)

well only Android wouldnt be that great. having a variety is key. each OS has it goods and bads. Though Android is my favorite OS, i still think WinMo is very good (with TF3D or WinMo 6.5).

no QwietStorm. though i may be wrong, the one in the roadmap was a very very early mockup. i know for a fact that the roadmap wasnt extremely new, but i also know it is legit.

heres the alleged final looking Bigfoot: http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/06/11/t-mobiles-samsung-bigfoot/

ya. Walmart is the owner of Sam's Club. It is ALMOST identical to Costco in terms of items they sell, price and even looks of the place inside.

i think OS X (the OS the iPhone/iPod touch use) is perfect the way it is, for an iPod. i recently got an iPod touch [as a gift] and i absolutely love it because i dont need to multi-task or anything since its an iPod. i had an iPhone a little over a year ago and remember throwing it around and being careless since i honestly hated it. i am very gentle with my iPod touch because, as an iPod, it does everything i need and much more (read: internet!). the current OS Apple has is pretty, yet plain. just because its popular, doesnt mean it powerful. like i said, the OS is flawless when using the iPod touch. when using an iPhone, one sees how much work needs to be done.

Android, though it has its flaws as well, can be considered a true smartphone operating system.

when it comes to hardware, though both phones are sexy, i would say the Apple beats HTC because the iPhone 3GS has a bigger screen and thinner profile; i hate how the myTouch 3G is almost 14mm thick, pathetic.

when it comes to software, the myTouch 3G owns the iPhone 3GS. Android IMO is the best mobile platform currently available.

johnnybananas, since you cant get 3G with either device, it really comes down to whats more important for you: software or hardware?

Phone face-off / Re: G1 V2 or Bigfoot
« on: July 23, 2009, 05:52:28 pm »
"Bigfoot" is the codename for a Samsung Android device which is supposed to have a slide out full QWERTY keyboard.

G1V2 is the (code)name for an HTC Android device also sporting a slide out full QWERTY keyboard.
