Geohot has finally released his jailbreak, Limera1n. And lucky for us his supports ALL iDEVICES (iPhone 4/3GS (any bootROM)/3G, iPod Touch 2G/3G/4G, and iPad) unlike Greenpois0n which has now been delayed until the next iPad 2G/iPhone 5. Limera1n is also a BootROM jailbreak and will jailbreak you're iPhone/iPod/iPad FOR LIFE! Make sure to backup your SHSH for iOS 4.1 before jailbreaking!

NOTE: If you rely on an unlock DO NOT UPGRADE TO 4.1 YET! It will update your baseband and you will lose unlock!

Let's get started!

1. Update to iOS 4.1 if you haven't already. Make sure to backup everything before updating to the new OS!

For those with an iPhone 4 ONLY that want to preserve their baseband and unlock, follow directions here to update to 4.1 and keep you're current unlock: http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=12134

2. After you're on iOS 4.1, Download Limra1n here [CURRENLY ONLY FOR WINDOWS. MAC VERSION COMING SOON] Save the file to your desktop.

3. Plug in your iPhone 3G/3GS/4 or iPod Touch 2G/3G/4G or iPad via USB. Exit out of iTunes (If its open).

4. Double click the limera1n.exe file on your desktop to launch the application

5. Click the large Make It Ra1n button

6. Your iDevice will go into Recovery Mode

8. When Limera1n asks you to, release the power button on your iDevice, but DO NOT release the home button

9. Limera1n will make your iDevice go into DFU mode (Just sit back and wait).

12. Once you're on your homescreen, make sure you're connected to a WiFi network and click on the Limera1n icon on your iPhone homescreen.

13. After you launch the app, select the Cydia option then press the Install button at the top right of the screen.

14. Once the installation of Cydia is complete, the iDevice will reboot. If it does not automatically reboot, manually hold down power and home buttons until the Apple Logo appears.

15. Enjoy you're jailbroken iDevice!

If you guys have any issues, let me know, I'll try my best to help out!

Apple / JAILBREAK iPHONE 4/iPod Touch 4G OS 4.1 & iPAD 3.2.2!!!!!
« on: October 07, 2010, 03:56:33 pm »
Okay for those of you with an iPhone 4/iPod Touch 4G) on iOS 4.1 or an iPad on iOS 3.2.2 the new bootROM jailbreak release date has been officially announced! This new jailbreak will be called "Greenpois0n". This jailbreak is a bootROM jailbreak, meaning that Apple can't patch it without modifying the hardware. The jailbreak is finally ready and will be released this Sunday, October 10th, at 10:10AM GMT.

I'll update with more info as it comes!

[NOTE]: For those of you with an iPhone 4 on iOS 4.1, this is ONLY A JAILBREAK. NOT AN UNLOCK.

UPDATE Apparently, the ShAtter exploit (greenposi0n jailbreak) only works for iDevices with the A4 processor. So this jailbreak will only work for iPhone 4/iPod Touch 4G/iPad. For those of you with a 3GS a jailbreak for iOS 4.1 is being worked on.

« on: October 02, 2010, 11:42:06 pm »
Okay I'm currently rocking a T-Mobile Vibrant and I decided to order a G2 (which is scheduled for delivery on Oct. 4), I want to hear what Vibrant owners that switched to the G2 think. Any Vibrant owners out there dump their handset for the G2? If so, how do you like it so far?

« on: August 11, 2010, 03:26:06 pm »
Apple today released iOS 4.0.2 for the iPhone 3G/3GS/4 and iOS 3.2.2 for the iPad. DO NOT UPDATE!!!! You will lose your unlock (on the iPhone) and jailbreak. This update does not provide any fixes besides patching the exploit that Jailbreakme.com uses and the Ultrasn0w unlock uses.

AGAIN DO NOT UPDATE!

This is BY FAR the easiest jailbreak ever! THANK COMEX!

Ok so let's begin:

1. Update to iOS 4.0.1 (or 3.2.1 for iPad) in iTunes (must have the latest iTunes. Download here: http://apple.com/itunes/)

2. After you've updated to iOS 4.0.1 (or 3.2.1 for iPad), launch Safari on your iPhone (Make sure you're connected to WiFi)

3. Go to this website on your iPhone/iPad: www.jailbreakme.com

4. Slide your finger across where it says "Slide to Jailbreak"

5. Wait while it jailbreaks your iPhone 4/3GS/3G. Shouldn't take long.

6. Within minutes you'll have a jailbroken iPhone/iPad!

Reboot your iPhone (just in case).

Enjoy!

NOTE: The iPhone Dev Team will be releasing iPhone 4 unlock shortly (a few final tests). For those on the iPhone 3GS/3G, you may unlock your iPhone 3GS/3G using the Dev Team's ultrasn0w (which still works on iPhone 3G/3GS on 4.0.1). The Dev Team has released Ultrasn0w for the iPhone 4!

Directions for iPhone 4/3GS/3G unlock:

1. Once you've jailbroken your iPhone 4/3GS/3G on iOS 4.0.1, launch Cydia. Go to Manage>Sources. Touch on “Edit” and then on “Add”. You will be prompted to enter a URL source. Type in: http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com and press “Add Source”.

2. After installation is completed. Search for: ultrasn0w in Cydia and install this application. This app will automatically unlock your iPhone 4/3GS3G so that you can use it with any GSM carrier.

And you're done! You now have an iPhone 4/3G/3GS jailbroken and unlocked on the newest OS 4.0.1!

If anyone has any issues, let me know.
