HTC HD7 / Anyone receive their first WP7 update?

Thank you to you both! I will save this SIM card for a rainy day.

3
@viper thanks

is this considered a blank SIM? IF I lose my old SIM, can I just call, give them the new SIM info, and have it activated?

4
I bought a new phone but it came with a new SIM. What is it for? I just stuck in my old SIM in the new phone and everything works just fine.

So.... a few questions:
-what's the purpose of the new SIM? When I insert it in, nothing happens
-Is the SIM a duplicate of my current SIM? If I lose my first SIM, I can just go on and use the new SIM?
-I read somewhere that this is a blank SIM  that needs to be activated. Can someone elaborate? I have lost a SIM before and had to pay for a new one - can I technically just use this new SIM as my replacement?

Hello there.

This site is actually dedicated for T-mobile USA so we won't be able to help you here! :(

myTouch 4G / Re: New to Android and just got mytouch 4g
« on: December 03, 2010, 06:32:09 pm »
i called tmobile, and the rep told me that usually new os is reserved for new handsets and they usually start trickling down to older phones later. he told me that after the first cell phone releases with gingerbread, the earliest we can expect it is 6 months later

how is this not true? when 2.2 came out, it was only available for the nexus one. it took several months before it was available as an upgrade on certain handsets.

this, of course, doesn't apply if you root and flash new roms

Dell Venue / Venue Pro finally out! Worth it for $450, 500?
« on: December 01, 2010, 06:04:14 pm »
The good thing is that it's being sold off-contract for $450 and 500 for 8 and 16 Gb respectively.

Another good thing is that Dell often has 30% off coupons for its phones.

It also works on t-zones/web2go for you grandfathered plan owners.

Anyone still getting it?

And some hands-on. No thorough reviews yet as of 12/1/2010

Don't text 'STOP' back to unsubscribe either. All that does is confirm an active number.

Alright, t-zones doesn't work on the mytouch slide. Data worked for the first couple of hours but it stopped working altogether. It couldn't even load up the upsell page.

T-Mobile Services / Re: USB Tethering has officially been BLOCKED!
« on: November 16, 2010, 02:48:28 am »
@Viper

from the link you gave me, it appears it's only being blocked on phones that are t-mobile branded: g2, vibrant, hd2.

Also here.

Also T-Mobile forums.

Maintenance over @ T-Mobile begins in 38 min.

thanks. as long as data works, i am okay. i don't use tethering much anyway :D

15
As for now but they have blocked some already from tethering & blocked their T-Zones/Web2Go on all devices including unlocked, jailbreaked & rooted.

which subforum are you getting this info from? XDA?

16
@johnmed

that's unfortunate to hear. I will be able to verify your findings tomorrow. i'm going to slap my SIM card in a mytouch slide in the morning and i'll see if it works/if i get the upsell message when I'm done with classes.

With today's data plan changes, there's no longer a distinction between Android data plan vs Blackberry data plan. Does this mean that t-zones and web2go now work on all phones? Most likely, it wouldn't work but it doesn't hurt to try!

I have t-zones and will be testing it on my friend's Mytouch slide at the end of this week. Hopefully it works!

HTC HD7 / Re: HD7 working with web2go or t-zones?

That is awesome news. May I ask: do you have it working on tzones or web2go? Thanks!

HTC HD7 / HD7 working with web2go or t-zones?

Someone on XDA stated that it worked with t-zones but I am skeptical. Anyone here purchased HD7 unsubsidized?

T-mobile 3G / Re: So...how fast is 4G
« on: November 06, 2010, 10:45:55 am »
Are you referring to the bottleneck from data network vs hardware?

I can say, from my experience, that it's usually hardware that is preventing me from going any faster. I get speeds that are approximately 2,000-4,000 kbps download and 400-500 kbps upload. When loading a website, it's not the data connection that is causing the bottleneck; it's the actual hardware attempting to render everything.
