Garminfone / Re: Anyone getting the garminfone

Yea I know the return is 14 days.  I thought the phone only had gps for a limited time.  I actually took a test on the phone today (new RSA) and honestly it looks crappy.  It looks like a gps with a tacked on Android phone with very limited capabilities.  I can't believe it doesn't even have a 3.5 MM headphone jack.  is it really that hard to implement?

Is the GPS only 14 days?  That would really make the phone worthless....

I wanted to get a Bberry and the Slide was my secondary choice.  I'd like to see how much the HD2 would be, but it's currently sold out on the employee website.  I really wanted a Sidekick LX because I wanted something with a keyboard that didn't cost an arm and a leg (the HD2 I want to replace my iPod touch), but alas again unavailable.

BlackBerry Discussion / Okay I don't wanna spend a ton on a phone..
« on: June 10, 2010, 12:25:24 am »
I get a 40% discount for my first employee phone.  Plan won't be an issue seeing as how I only pay $19.95 a month.  I was wondering is the difference between a Bold and Curve worth $100?  I wanted to get the Slide, but it's $222 dollars and I want to avoid spending over $200.  The Bold is the most expensive of the 3 @ $240 while the Curve is $140.  I know the Curve lacks 3G, but is everything else that bad it's worth the extra $100 for the Bold?  I probably won't use the net for much besides gamefaqs and a few websites like that.  I'll probably sell my iPod touch for like $150 to cover the cost of the phone.  Any ideas on what to do?

T-Mobile Services / Is this true?

I started working @ Tmo today and I read and was told by the person in charge of the course that every 3G phone will be able to use HSPA+.  Is that accurate?

The Circus (lounge) / Sales Reps do you like your job??
« on: June 02, 2010, 09:52:34 am »
I start Monday, and I'm really excited and a little nervous.  I'm training at a different store than my home store and might be there for 2-3 weeks.  Do you sales reps like your job?  Is training boring or fun?  I'm really looking forward to selling phones as I am a technology sales person @ Staples right now and get absolutely nothing (no commission) for what I do.  Thanks for any advice!!   :) :)

The Circus (lounge) / What phone should I get?

Okay, I'm getting a job on June 7th and was wondering what phone I should get?  I'd love the Nexus one, but it's not available to employees yet.  I was thinking between the My Touch Slide, HD2 and the Bold.  I really want a phone with a Keyboard, but it's not a requirement.  Right now I use a crappy samsung camera phone through AT&T (the main reason I have to switch is due to the employee plan) and just want a smartphone for once!  Thanks for any advice

Customer Service / Is this a good job?
« on: April 21, 2010, 08:21:02 am »
I'm probably gonna get a call today to be a sales associate (rep) I already had the interview and my background check was 97% done yesterday.  Is it a good job?  I'm in sales right now with Staples and quite frankly I hate it.  The managers are disrespectful, I get very little pay (raises are .30 a year!!) and I just am dissatisfied with everything.  We get a lousy bonus check every week (usually 50 cents sometimes nothing) and I'm really excited to get commission for my ability as a salesman now!  Any tips for a possible noobie?

Can someone please answer me, or tell me where to put this so I can get an answer?  :(

The Circus (lounge) / How much commission do sales associates make?
« on: April 19, 2010, 03:31:38 pm »
I had an interview last week for a sales rep(associate) part-time position.  I am really, really interested but the commission confused me a little bit.  Is it 50% on all post-paid plan agreements?  He also said $3 spiff on any protection, 10% on accessories and something about flex-pay that I can't remember.  Can anyone clarify this for me?  Also, how long does the background check take?  I did it on Wednesday and Thursday I had to scan and e-mail a transcript and a paper I had to sign.  Thanks a lot in advance for your answers!
