Cliq Discussion / Re: Cliq 2.1 Rom For Root Users
« on: May 31, 2010, 10:25:31 pm »
Also guys once Moto (or if) they release the offical 2.1,look for the guy over there to port it and have a few roms going without all the Blur junk, after 2.1 is released itll be easy for them to port 2.2(froyo) to the Cliq. Just a simple Kernel Update.

Cliq Discussion / Cliq 2.1 Rom For Root Users
« on: May 27, 2010, 09:50:32 pm »
Hey, just wanted to let you know someone has ported 2.1 for the Cliq. Its still in Beta and there are a couple of things not working fully yet. TravisJames over at M3 is doing the port, and is expected to release another ROM in late tonight or early tomarrow with everything working but Bluetooth and the 3.5 jack. Yes for some this is a deal breaker, but it something better than Motorola has given us. This is not for the faint at heart, you must have Root to use the ROM, hit the link for more info and a complete description on the Rom and its creator.

G1 Discussion / Re: rooted users, what build do you use?
« on: July 17, 2009, 09:01:01 pm »
Ive used JF,Dude's,Soulife's ION,multiple hero roms, and H's roms, and in my opinion Cyanogens and JF's Roms are the most stable & useful to me.  Just my two cents.

Actually TMo didn't pull it, it was for rooted users and is included with most roms now. But PDAnet from JuneFabrics.Com will allow you to tether with the usb cable. I know it has bluetooth & WIFI options for windows mobile phones but not sure if they have the same options for Android phones. Hope this helps.

The thing is with the possibilities of rooting the G1 is still the best phone by far. If the MyTouch cant be rooted then it'll leave power users in the lurch. The phone looks really nice, but i'll stay with the G1 till something else comes along that can be rooted/modded. But that's just me. :)

Well I reluctantly went back to JF's 1.5, not that it's not a good ROM, but really wish Hero ha been more dependable. I was having issues with the touch screen the bottom part would freeze up until I locked then unlocked it would work so it must be a software issue with Hero. Oh well.  JF 1.5 with Aero Theme is pretty nice too tho. At least I figured out how to get the flashplayer.apk out off the apps folder in Hero and install it on JF1.5. Seems to work so far.

Flash does work on the G1 one of two ways. 1, the Hero Rom..2, Download the apps_ file from xda for the Hero rom, unzip and look for flashplayer.apk and install from sdcard, this does work i'm using it now,

I'm using a 2 gig card right now. I'm not sure what class to be honest. I know i just bought it so its new and is branded Nokia. The rom is a bit slow at times but I noticed the more I use it the faster it seems to get. Not sure if its cause I'm getting used to it or if it just needs some burn in time. Sorry I don't know more about my card. How do I find out what class it is? One thing i can say is the browser does not seem to like edge speeds, it does get laggy with it since it has some widgets that need the internet connection to update but if you dont use the weather widget in non 3g locations it seems to do better.

I'm using the Rom and it works sweet. While I was moving the a the apps folder over the the ext partion i noticed a flash.apk , this might be able to be used in the regular app folder to install flash. I cant confirm since i dont plan on changing the rom unless its updated. It just works too sweet to change back to anything else. Flash does seem to work on this rom with no issues ive encountered so far. Im even seeing the flash animation from the sprint ads while im typing this here in the forums.

How many themes do they have in there now?

14
It won't. You won't see anything happen because It runs in the background. Just pull up telnet after that and type in the commands in the terminal that are in the instructions, it'll work, don't worry.

Glad you got it figured out. lol. JF's build is awesome. The G1 has to be the best phone I've come across so far once you root it. It has so many possibilities. My only complaint would be no java or flash support, but supposedly being worked on. Anybody heard any word on a possible software update for java and flash?

I got tired of waiting so I rooted and decided to go with jf's rom. The multitouch is sweet. It wasn't as hard as you would think. Really opens up the options of the phone.

G1 Discussion / PDANet
« on: May 08, 2009, 11:17:26 pm »
Hey guys don't know if this has been mentioned before but PDANet works for tethering your G1 without rooting. And it's free. www.junefabrics.com   I'm not normally one to suggest software and stuff but i'm tethering with it right now without having to go through all the trouble of rooting the phone and taking a chance at messing up the phone.

Try the debranding thing. It's really easy, and it opens up GPS and FM Radio.

I've got the Red One, and I'm a dude. But a lot of men and women both come in the store, want it fighting over who gets the red one, and I end up selling two of them.
