Will this affect default browsing on others sites in any adverse way?

Are the record and search buttons not working for you too?

Haven't had any sync errors, but I did have to try connecting to the market a few times before it actually connected after updating to Froyo. Maybe the problems are connected, as you suggested.

Running right now. The speed increase is definitely noticeable. So glad I got a Nexus.

Do you use the stock messaging app or a 3rd party one?

That's what I said. I researched and asked around, then changed my settings which allows me to receive, but I can't send.

I had to change the settings you say to keep stock in order to receive. That's what I'm talking about. Why do only some people have these issues.

Nexus One / MMS Problems
« on: May 02, 2010, 05:34:56 pm »
Ever since the Nexus came out, there has been people all over the net having MMS issues, while others haven't. Don't know why that is, but I had to change my APN settings in order to receive MMS, however I can't send without getting an error. Does anyone who can send and receive have the correct APN settings?

I've had the phone since it came out. Never had any SMS issues. I think this is the first I'm even hearing about it. MMS was the problem I was having. Couldn't send or receive with any reliability. I changed the APN settings and everything is all good.

I'm talking about the HSPA 7.2. All of this is besides the issue regardless

Not in rural areas and Jersey, which are the "problem" areas I was initially referring to

No, I don't, since HSPA+ is not available yet ;) When I said the switch was flipped, I meant from HSDPA to HSPA.

I don't blame T-mobile. I blame HTC. I haven't had any issues, ever since I changed the phone settings to use  "WCDMA-only"  option. Before that, it would drop from 3G to EDGE. That is annoying. I am not going to call CC because they will tell me the scripted line of "You are having that issue because you are using a BB data plan on an Android phone. You need to change to an Android data plan, and the issue will go away."

Sorry, not gonna happen. I am not leaving my $19.99 BB data plan, just to test if its the phone or the network.

Previously, when I selected WCDMA only, in the areas where I would drop to EDGE, I would lose signal completely instead, because I was basically telling my phone all or nothing, and since I manually removed the option for the phone to choose, that's what I was inherently left with. With it not happening to me now, and with me obviously still using the same hardware, it can't be a hardware issue, at least not exclusively, and it's not like this is a problem exclusive to the Nexus One to begin with, so..

Nexus One / Funny Thing
« on: March 30, 2010, 11:04:27 pm »
Ever since the HSDPA switch was flipped in my area of NYC/North Jersey and the backbone was improved, my Nexus One has no longer been fluctuating between 3G and EDGE. I also noticed a speed increase in general. Funny thing is now in the rural and indoor areas where it was happening, I sometimes lose signal altogether, instead of dropping to a slower mobile state. Now, in the past, whenever towers in my area have underwent an upgrade, I noticed my signal was less than stellar for a few weeks while the process was flushed out, so that may be what's happening or it may not. Has this happened to anyone else and their Nexus?

It goes without saying that the Nexus One will see the next version of Android and beyond that. What we don't know are features or a release date.

On the same topic, does anyone have suggestions for converting Nexus One 3gp native videos to mp4 format for other devices?

Sexy? Really?

So you don't have the 3G issue, battery life issue, or the radio issue. How does it feel to actually have the "superphone," black silva?

20
Thanks, Black Silva. So have you tried to cover the bottom of the N1 like they did in the video to see if the 3G disconnects?

Qwiet, the phones I am looking to get are upgrades to our current phones, since I am out of contract with Tmo.

Sorry, I was asking black silva.
