T-Mobile Services / 2nd line options
« on: April 05, 2011, 12:54:05 pm »
I currently have 1 line with a BB curve on the 500m + unl text + 200mb data plan and want to add another line which will have unl data at least, what would be the best way? Create a family line or add a separate line? Is adding an EM+ line a good idea seeing as I have an HD2 or DVP I can use already. Thanks.

Windows Phone 7 / Re: Microsoft Shows Multitasking on WP7
« on: February 27, 2011, 07:21:09 pm »
Well those microsoft boys are hard at work, Multitasking, kinnect on a phone, speed tweaks, twitter intergration, ie9 with html5 support, more skydrive integration, etc. Excited??? eh?? Well im just giddy being the only wp7 owner here, (Btw thanks guys)...watch this video please..

You're not the only one, but the anti MS guys make tmonews very tiring to read, so I find myself avoiding coming here. Definitely enjoying my DVP (when it doesnt crash, looking forward to getting a Nokia WP7).

I'd say the odds are slim for 2nd gen handsets and none for another T-Mo handset, judging from reports on how stores are promoting android and the lack of advertising I'd say T-Mo isnt that interested in WP7.

I had a WP7 device, I'm not on facebook, does my sale not count? Guess as long as its bad WP7 news the facts dont matter.

Dell Venue / Re: Venue Pro finally out! Worth it for $450, 500?
« on: December 07, 2010, 11:53:35 pm »
Tried the HD7 reluctantly after the initial problems with the Dell, found the hardware is a complete POS, however the OS is very, very impressive so the HD7 is now history and I have ordered the Dell once more. Sadly it wont be here for a few more weeks but the OS is completely worth it.

HTC HD7 / Re: HD7 working with web2go or t-zones?
« on: November 15, 2010, 07:49:50 pm »
Yes it does work.  I bought an HD7 full price and I can confirm that it works.  (Well minus the fact that T-Mobile Store Reps were a**holes and added required data anyways without my permission and I had to call customer loyality to get it removed and my old data plan back)

Thats exactly what happened to me when I bought my HD2, I'm pretty sure they "assured" you your current data plan would not be changed right? Probably doing it on purpose hoping people wont check their data plan. Cant trust anyone these days.

The system does not automaticly add any web plans on a full price phone purchase and the required feature can only be added a few ways.  I don't know all the details but was this a corporate store?  If so I would go back and talk (not yell) to the manager.  If was an indirect, not much you can do.

FYI- T-Mobile does everything it can to discourage this type of shady stuff. That is why they send a text when the web feature has been modified or added.

Was definitely a T-Mobile store in my case and I didnt receive any text that my plan had been modified. I called CS and they sorted it out.

Dell Venue / Re: What say the T-Mo ninja's! on the Nov 15th launch?

Anyone else trying to get it at midnight online at 11/15?

Am I a fool for trying?
nah...your not the only one...I'm beginning to think the venue pro wont be released today, and we will never know when it will be released. I am really considering just getting the HD7 now, all this waiting sucks.

I'm starting to feel the same way, and thats saying something as I REALLY dislike HTC. If they would at least announce a date, take preorders or SOMETHING, but all we have is the same thing we had last week, nothing. Just sign up for our spam and we'll get back to you. Maybe they are releasing a Diamond encrusted Venue Pro for making us wait so long and its taking time to get the highest quality diamonds? :)

HTC HD7 / Re: First Impressions

WP7 only transfers music and video files via the Zune software. Any other files like word docs, zip and pdf's have to be emailed to yourself. There is no other way to transfer files to a WP7 device. Rumour has it MS plans to add full Skydrive sync for Office docs in the 2011 update, but as I said, its just a rumour. ....

Wasn't it supposed to sync/transfer everything that's in your connected LiveID account? Pix, docs, music etc ...

I missed out pictures which do get synced by the Zune desktop software but no docs, just music, video and pictures. There's an application called PC Connect which claims to allow you to access any files you want but I havent read any feedback from anyone who has tried it.

I sure hope they start selling Monday but it doesn't look good

Problem is they wont tell us when exactly they will put it up for sale, waiting with no info makes it more frustrating but I guess they dont want to lose sales by saying it wont be available for months, for example.

Thanks for the udpate.

The flash support on Android is great, hopefully WP7 does get flash support in the near future.  As far as transfering files via Zune, I've never owned a Zune player and so I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Is the exprience like iTunes? With the HD7, am I able to sync with my laptop and move files around that way?

I'm glad you all enjoy your phone.  :)  Anyone coming from an HD2?  If so, glad you made the switch?

If you are expecting HD2 levels of flexibility from WP7, dont bother with it yet. As updates are released maybe the functionality you require will be added but as of now its not there.

I have an HD2 but havent upgraded yet as I'm waiting for the Dell Venue Pro, but I tried an HD7 on Wednesday and I have to say for me, I am itching to dump my HD2 and get a WP7 device, its a completely smooth, fast, compelling enough experience with the functionality it does have which meet my needs perfectly and miles above WM. When the missing features are added it will really be an incredible OS.

HTC HD7 / Re: Sync Entourage to HD7 without Windows Live?
« on: November 11, 2010, 05:22:11 pm »
There's no way to sync a WP7 device with a local PIM client, it only supports OTA exchange for calendar and contacts. Its Windows Live or nothing.

I know, thats what I was asking about, the UK retailers are now saying their handsets are delayed I was wondering if that would be the case for the US. Hoping the 15th is still on as reported.

naww thats UK's problem.. not a US problem.. Dell is a US CO., so we'll be fine.

Hope so, time for me to get in on the fun.  8)

Just wondering if there are any hints of a delay for the suppsed Nov 15th launch for the VP, UK retailers are reporting a "delay" but not sure how true that is as it was initially mentioned to be coming in Jan by a Dell rep at some event.

Windows Phone 7 / Re: Not a lot of activity on WP7 launch day
« on: November 10, 2010, 10:44:10 am »
Actually my opinion comes from not the OS itself but its functionality. The design of using tiles, to the only about 2,000 apps available, to not being able to have its own MicroSD & others like wallpaper on home screen will throw some ppl off.

Now im not a hater of Windows Phone 7, I will be one of those who probably purchases both HD7 & Venue Pro because I like all OS's around like the iPhone even. I want Symbian, MeeGo, Maemo, Blackberry, Windows Mobile/Phone, Android & iOS. Hell even give me OPhone=China Mobile/Android Type. I played with it last nite. Remember, I used to be teased here cuz I was supposedly a Microsoft fanboy. However, at that time Windows Mobile only supported what I wanted. But now almost all of them do.

Also may I add that business e-mail functionality is not all there like Windows Mobile had so many businesses may not transition over depending on their needs.

I guess you like so many others just cant see beyond android and for some reason think this is the absolute final version of WP7 and no featues will be added or improvements made and no more than 2000 applications will ever be released. Hating it is one thing but to assume it wont improve is a bit hard to understand.

But hey, it will fail and everyone on the planet will move to android, all according to plan.

Because ppl are going to be hesitant to try it because of the old Windows Mobile in the first place plus it is just beginning. Time will tell & since ive played with it, it simply does not interest me much than Windows Mobile did.

But you dont speak for everyone and just because you dont like it doesnt mean no one else will. WP7 is nothing like WM, unless someone is completely closed minded they will see that on the first try of the OS. android has been around for just 2 years, what exactly is preventing WP7 from seeing the same growth and why again is someone proposing that android has cornered the market on smartphone growth?

Dell Venue / Re: Any way to buy VP online on 11/8?

Seems not, I was hoping for the same but MS and Dell seem intent on keeping this handset out of as many people's hands as possible.
