Unlocked phones / Re: Unlocked phone questions?
« on: June 30, 2009, 01:29:01 pm »
Im using a HTC Touch HD. Not all touch-screen phones have on-screen keyboards so big tha you cant see what your typing. Many windows mobile phones have touch-screens and physical keyboards, and if windows mobile isnt your style, many HTC phones have Android ports already out for them, if you have the skill(and the guts) to flash your phone.

Beside popular belife, the idea of multi-touch is not panted by apple. Its just the way that its implented and used on the device that apple has panted. Google coded Multi-Touch into Android, but as most know, its hidden in the root. Apples lawyers are known for being deceptive, stubborn, and just plain vicious. Many manufacturers and developers have ,ade multi-touch programs, but have never released them because of Apples retaliations. But since more and more multi-touch programs are being developed, im sure Google will jump in sometime.

General Android Questions / Re: Can you Flash your phone to death?
« on: June 28, 2009, 02:48:46 pm »
I doubt something like tha is possible at all. Developers often flash their phones daily, when testing updates and various other software. Your phone should physiclly put wear on the ROM.

T-Mobile Services / Re: EDGE vs GPRS
« on: April 20, 2009, 11:04:30 pm »
but does gprs charge by data usage? and i also read somewhere that tmo edge was faster than att 3g if your in the right areas. true?

I would just find a way to end tmo service without pay the termination fee. Threating legal action perhaps? And even though you hate it, keep the G1 and find another GSM carrier and put the sim card in that phone so you can avoid paying for yet another phone.

T-Mobile Services / EDGE vs GPRS
« on: April 19, 2009, 10:48:52 am »
Which one is better? I want to activate a data plan on my unlocked phone but im not sure which one I should use because it thinks that its  supposed to use GPRS but I think EDGE is way faster. Im just looking for the cheaper alternative. My phone can use both signals, but im also not sure on how to go about activating the service. Any help is very appriciated, and please leave useful replies. Thanks!

« on: April 06, 2009, 10:18:11 pm »
is there a way to fool the phone into thinking that i do have the data plan? or a way to get the phone to ignore that in a whole? my friend showed me his 8310 and he can browse the web on wifi but he dosent have the data package enabled. Plus i dont want faster speed than tmobile edge. Im pretty sure thiers a way to do it, as ive seen it done numerous times.

Blackberry 8900 / Browsing Internet /w out Data Plan?
« on: April 06, 2009, 10:00:04 pm »
Ive had my 8900 for about 2 weeks and lovin it. But i dont have a data plan, and the phone has wifi. i often travel to places where wifi hotspots are available, so browsing the web on my phone would be a great bonus. I take my touch hd with me if i know im gonna need the internet but dont feel like taking my laptop. But the curve has a great keyboard and and i would like to use it when im around town. But i tried this last night when i was on my home wifi network. Connected to it, then it said that i need the web2go plan. a friend told me that i dont need a data plan since the phone has its own data source independent from the gsm antenna. but i dont know how to get it working. Long story short, how do i connect to the web with wifi on my 8900?  ???? Thanks ;D

i personally think its one of the best devices nokia has ever put in the e series. If it had a mouth id make out with it and more. This phone is great, and has pretty great specs for a symbian device. But i also would mind this one for the dash2

looks kinda sleek. Just add a vga screen and we'll be good to go!

Nokia Discussion / Re: I wonder if this phone is real or not
« on: March 22, 2009, 02:53:12 pm »
that phone has been floating around ever since the iPhone came out. It never did get very much attention, but its on its way up with the new XpressMusic(eww) and the N97 out. Its a real concept, but its probly will be put into (overpriced)production sometime.

I would totally jump all over that beast. And im luvin that 1Ghz Processor...but not too excited about the 256mb of ram.
but i would flip out if i saw this phone with a tmo logo.

I like the new one. The font says vintage 30s/40s yet the font below it kinda gives this modern vibe...Its also got a nice composition to it.

New on right.

Who is Pharos? Never heard of it, and what's up with that weird model # "137" couldn't they just round i off to 140 or make it cool like T-1370?
Well, i doubt the model number really makes or breaks people on deciding to buy the phone. Youve probly never heard of them because their more of a quiet company, mostly keep to themselves. They have actually been around for a while though. They launched their first phone in 2000. Been making great ones ever since.
