I'll tell you, I don't like the redesign either, I like it the old way.

Retro Rewind

I did the same thing with a Moto Razr the other day.  I had to pull it out of the closet so it can be used in Australia by a friend.

iPhones on 5.12.01 baseband, I mean seriously Dev Team, I know you can exploit it so why not just release it before OS 4.0 comes out.

I remember CatDog

Also, the cats have become more of a trend if we need an image.  If I find good dog pictures, I will be sure to post them.  Personally, the image of my own cat looking at the blog for open comments days is my favorite, mostly because it's my cat looking at my blog post.

They messed up.  They will make up for it in terms of devices, but I have little faith in touchwiz skinned Android phones at this point, no matter how amazing the hardware may be.

The Circus (lounge) / Re: T-Mobile's Lack of Marketing
« on: May 31, 2010, 11:47:06 pm »
Marketing has always been a problem, but at the same time, do we want it?  Is the lack of marketing helping to keep costs low, which means cheaper plans?  What about network upgrades and upkeep?  It seems as if they are focusing more on their network than marketing, and that is something I applaud.  I would love to see more commercials, I really would.  I would definitely like to see some great device specific commercials too, if they are great phones.  The Droid commercials (DROID and droid Incredible) work because they make the viewer want to learn more, and they make it clear that the device is a great phone.  If T-mobile can create the same amount of interest in a single phone, I would be happy.

The majority of the iPhone's problems revolve around AT&T. AT&T blows hard, even in the city I live in. T-Mobile and Verizon are the best around here. AT&T doesn't crash but dropped calls are a certainty, like they were in the Cingular days.

Those problems are all well-warranted. Android is not that great for music, especially if you've lived within the iTunes ecosystem and still have DRM AAC tracks. The battery life blows on the Incredible, but it has a 1300 MAh battery which is too small for a modern smartphone. The 3GS can get away with that size because it has a smaller, lower resolution TFT display with less powerful hardware. The Market isn't as well developed as the App Store but it's understandable since Android isn't even 2 years old yet.

Android has evolved fast within the last 8 months. It has gone from "hey this might be neat one day" to full-fledged iPhone competitor. The second-gen hardware has done a lot for this. The Droid, which has the same processor as the Pre and 3GS feels way faster than the 528 MHz ARM11s of every first-gen phone.

quoted because it's all true and should be read twice

for sound quality, cans are the way to go. The drivers in earbuds just can't compete.

The best part, they are one of the few pairs of headphones (or really any product) that is actually cheaper at Best Buy than Amazon or NewEgg

wait a second, I have a suggestion!!  i have gone through a number of headphones, both over and in ear.  It looks like you are going for in ear earbuds.  Right now, I am loving the Ultimate Ears Superfi 4s.  They are fantastic, comfortable to me, and offer good bass.  They also seem really durable (the first pair I have had in the past 6 months that haven't broken in a month).  They have 2 sets of these Comply Foam ear tips that expand in your ear to help isolate sound.
