The Circus (lounge) / New AT&T Commercial...
« on: May 21, 2011, 08:57:41 pm »
so I just saw a commercial on TV... It starts off kinda like the T Mobile flash mob commercial... but 1 guy takes off his coat and starts dancing all alone... everyone stares... after some time he stops and looks at his phone... his message finally downloads saying the flash mob time was moved.... to me this commercial mocks the t mobile commercial... has anyone else seen this? or know what i'm talking about?

Samsung Android / Awesome Drop... (Very Useful App!)
« on: August 01, 2010, 09:03:34 am »
okay... this isn't strictly for the Vibrant but I noticed it now and it is extremely useful... the app is called Awesome Drop (it's free on the market)... it  allows you to transfer files between a PC and your phone... in the most SIMPLE way i've ever seen without using cables...

You open up the browser... to http://labs.dashwire.com (go there now it has a video of how the app works)...
then you open the app on your phone...
on your phone you put in the code that appears on the website... and it will link your phone and the site, changing the top of the website from a number to a "Drag Here" green box...
Simply drag the file/files (yes it does multiple files) from your PC to that green box and it will start copying to your phone...

This app is extremely helpful if you have a small file or a couple small files you want to copy over, like ringtones pictures even full songs... it does NOT work too well with extremely large files like movies and stuff but hey for those situations i'm sure people wouldn't mind using a cable...

Anyway i hope you guys find this app as helpful as i have!
Enjoy!

There's also a player out called RockPlayer... for the AVI files that the vibrant does NOT play stock, RockPlayer has played it, and played it EXTREMELY well... the quality is simply amazing... so check that player out if you're trying to play a file and it doesn't play (stock)...  Enjoy

I'm in northern new jersey (right over the GWB on the jersey side) and I've seen it on Edge a lot as well, if I'm outside it will stay 3G but inside it normally shows edge.... however as I've stated somewhere else I don't think the signal display is correct because even when it does say 0 bars it still works... I dont recall at any time NOT having service and it actually NOT working... so i think it's probably a software issue or something but who knows for sure...  ????

5
yea i noticed it shows no bars a lot... or low signal strength but when i actually try to do things, it works real well and doesn't ACT like it's in low signal or "no" signal... its very weird i think maybe the thing that displays the signal or checks it might be outta whack or something...

Samsung Android / Re: How do you move Avatar
« on: July 19, 2010, 04:08:58 pm »
connect the USB to the computer, it will show you 2 drives... Mine were F and G (both were samsung vibrant) 1 i believe was the Card the other was the onboard memory...

in one of them you'll see a Movie folder.... simply copy that movie folder to your pc (with 2 avatar files in it, the movie and the trailer).... and then insert the NEW memory card into your device and copy the files back.... I'm not an expert on file types and stuff but I believe you can NOT put that file on another device and have it work... i think it needs to be on the device you copied it from... so if you do this it will WORK on the new memory card but same device (since that's what I did) ... I could be wrong about it not working on other devices cuz like i said i'm no expert.... hope that helps

Android market discussion! / official aim app
« on: February 13, 2010, 09:13:54 am »
Aol media has released an official aim app for free in the market. The only cool thing about it is lifestream, apparently now you can link your twitter and facebook to aim and view them directly from this app as well, and even chat with facebook friends too.

Needs a lot of work but all in all I'm glad to see they finally released an app. At least now they're showing interest.

i was contemplating getting the n900 until i found out that it didn't do MMS... that was a deal breaker for me... that's something that all phones should have in my opinion

Android market discussion! / Re: Is Google building a trojan horse?

They need to do something quick, because commerial devs are bailing or reducing efforts due to lack of sales in the Android app market.  This could be a disaster that Android devs are willingly staying the course on.

so then you wouldn't be able to use any apps if you dont' have service? like if you're on a plane and decide you want to put it into airplane mode but still play some games and such?

and wouldn't this mean that they'd know exactly what you open and when for how long and everything like that?  idk if i like this idea... seems like it'll have a lot of good AND bad things about it... i woulda thought apps2sd would have been a sufficient enough solution

that sounds kinda cool lol

The Circus (lounge) / Re: T-MOBILE IS NUTS
« on: August 16, 2009, 10:04:44 am »
ROBERT DOTSON HAS GOT TO GO!

T-Mobile is no longer your friendly little guy that could. T-Mobile is no longer that credit union to a bank. T-Mobile no longer is for the little guy. T-Mobile is now just the lesser of four evils! Does anyone recall when T-Mobile was the little carrier that put it's customers first and always put them within reach of their services. More and moreso lately, they seem to take advantage of that. Their business model has become more aggressive especially to the little guy. Raising of fees, cut corners here and there, upgrade fees, the worst ETF I know. You may think T-Mobile is in the ball game, but it's the 4th quarter and it's too late. Verizon and ATT now charge prices for phones that T-Mobile could only once do and distant themselves. They now charge for billing, that's ridiculous. T-Mobile may be leading the charge in Android, trust me when I say, the others will catch up. Robert Dotson, Sue Nokes, you've got to go, you've lost your "in touch" with the consumer base. Only your reps save you, but they can only do that for so long.

A happily loyal T-Mobile customer for 3 1/2 years.

I definitely am sorry to hear that you feel this way, here's my two cents.. T-mobile is a multi-billion dollar company owned by an even larger company called Deutsche Telekom AG. We have over 30 million customers and gaining. Do you think T-mobile is content to be number four forever? I don't see why we would be. In order to accomplish our goals for things like 3G network expansion and a great selection of high-end devices (to name a few) we must bring in higher revenue. How do you think things would go for T-Mobile if we did not have the 3G network rolling out and better and better phones coming out all the time? Now on to the whole charging for paper bills thing. Seriously...A charge is a charge is a charge, regardless of what it's named. If you don't want to pay the $1.50 a month we have a great paperless billing system that you can use instead. In the end, it's only $1.50 a month. Think of how much more you would be paying with any other major carrier and that $1.50 doesn't look so bad after all. As for the upgrade fee...honestly it's an industry standard. Verizon, ATT, and Sprint all charge upgrade fees. I mean really...can you blame T-Mobile for attempting to level the playing field?

+1 well put

Touch Pro2 / Re: TP2 & Smartphone Data Plans
« on: August 15, 2009, 10:37:03 am »
if they put a download limit on t-zones you guys are gonna be screwed that want to complain you dont want to pay for the required plan... like they said on an earlier post, yea you paid less in the previous years but you also didn't have the same amount of bandwidth usage... If you want the phone you need the plan, if you don't like it then dont get the phone.  I don't think it's unreasonable that t-mobile is raising their prices... people complain about the coverage, people complain about them not having exclusive phones that stick out well that costs money... and how are they suppose to make money if their customers are gonna complain when their prices raise even though it's STILL cheaper than most competitors?

I think the overall value of t-mobile is amazing and for them to improve as well as they have EVEN THOUGH they don't charge as much as the other carriers says a lot about the way they run things...
