Apple / Can you still update/unl**** an original Iphone with 1.1.4?

Someone just gave me another first generation Iphone.  Unfortunately, it still has version 1.1.4 and I cannot use Itunes or the app store.  I have had an Iphone in the past and unlocked and jailbroke it using QuickPwn. It has been a while and I cannot find deffinitive ways to update this thing.  What do you suggest using to update so it can be used with Itunes and app store? Links?
