Upcoming Phones / Re: Hercules is coming! (SGH-T989)

I can't wait to see this phone in person, currently rocking the Sensation and completely loving it, but I'll definitely give this phone a look.

myTouch 4G / Re: MyTouch 4G First Impression
« on: November 04, 2010, 09:08:23 am »
I'm loving the new T-Mobile, absolutely loving the new attitude.  I'm really loving the Mytouch 4G, replaced my Vibrant.  I thought I'd be hung up on the 4" SAMOLED screen, but this phone is so nice, I don't miss it as much as I thought I would.

Some minor things are making a huge difference, the track pad for instance for positioning / editing text I'm really loving it, missed this a lot.  I also really like that the touch pad wakes up the screen, a minor detail but it's so much better than having to reach for a power button.

The phone is fast, and the wifi calling (Reason I got the phone) is simply amazing, can finally dump my BB.

Video calling is ok, I've tried Tango but not the QIK app it came with yet, not a big deal for me since I won't use this often.

I absolutely LOVE the genius button, simply said, it packages all of Android's voice recognition features into a very easy to access button.

So far I'm very satisfied... battery life seems to be average for this type of phone, overall I'm very happy!

Galaxy Tab / Re: Samsung Galaxy Tab for T-Mobile OFFICIAL!!!
« on: October 09, 2010, 07:42:46 pm »
I'm going to sound like an apple fan boy right about now but why would you get this instead of an Ipad. Theirs way more apps and it has streaming netflix. The only way I can change my mind if the galaxy tab its priced @ 300 to 399 no contract. I actually wanna hear android user tell me why is this tablet better I really do.

Well, first of all... ITS ANDROID :-), it has a front and rear facing camera so it does things the iPad can't do like video calling.  The fact that it has a smaller screen is a plus in my department, I was fortunate enough to play with both the iPad and Galaxy Tab just a few hours apart from each other and my wife and I said exactly the same thing, the iPad is great for the couch but definitely not to lug around with all day.  The galaxy tab is much more portable and ergonomically much easier to use.  Finally, like it or not Flash is NOT dead, I don't care with Mr Jobs says, it's all over the web and it's not going anywhere fast, so this has the full web browsing experience unlike the iPad.

Anyway for the record, my argument is why this would be better for me than an iPad not why it would be better for you or anyone else.  There is a reason there are so many products to choose from, people have different likes / needs and taste.

Galaxy Tab / Re: Samsung Galaxy Tab Coming To T-Mobile?
« on: September 07, 2010, 01:44:22 pm »
It wouldn't surprise me, Samsung's model for the Galaxy S phone was not to offer exclusive deals, instead they are trying to blanket as many carriers as possible.  It would make sense for the Galaxy Tab to follow the same model, that being said, I'm personally not interested in a tablet at this point.

Maybe when I'm ready to replace my laptop I'd consider getting one.

Apple / Re: iPhone Headed To T-Mobile USA in 2010/2011?

I don't quite understand why not... from an employee standpoint I'd love to see this happen, granted I'm not interested in the device personally.

Nexus One / Re: froyo ftw

I'm running Froyo on N1, everything else seems faster except the market, loads up really slow.  Anyone else seeing this?

HD2 / Re: Traded my nexus one for a hd2...
« on: April 18, 2010, 09:28:16 pm »
I have both HD2 and N1 and go back and forth every few days... I love both phones but the N1 wins because of Android and the AMOLED screen, however everytime I go back to my N1 the size seems a bit inadequate...

So my next phone will be Android with at least 4 inches... bring it on.

HD2 / Re: Initial impressions, POST HERE.
« on: April 06, 2010, 06:21:57 pm »
Got mine today... I'm about 5 hours into using it, slight learning curve as my last WinMo phone was a SDA back in 2004.

So far I like it, I've put my N1 back in the box so I can run this phone solo at least for a week or 2.  First impressions are that Sense makes this phone a nice easy device to use... I got it mainly for the movies and size of the screen and I am truly impressed so far.

Will give a full assessment after about a week or use, or if something changes drastically one way or the other.

Thanks!!  Works great!!

I got the HD2 yesterday and it's really awesome... yet since I saw the Supersonic I don't even have the slightest urge to play with it anymore.  In fact, it's going back to Walmart tomorrow!  IMO, if you are on the fence, wait it out a little longer, it will be worth it... the release date is supposedly June 6th.  WM isn't bad, but not great either, I will say the hardware is just perfect and the size feels great in your hand.

With this kind of attitude you'll be doing the same with the EVO by the time it actually hits the shelves.  Who knows what Apple is going to do in June, who knows what else HTC has up their sleeve for who knows what carrier, Dell is cooking up something, Motorola... can go on, but you get the point.

With the super-phone race officially on now, nothing is king for too long anymore.

Nicely done rberney, I'm continuing to stay as far away from this phone as I can.  Even with it's "shortcomings" the hardware alone will sell this phone... I'm so tempted to give my wife my N1 and get this phone, but then I'm afraid after the honeymoon is over I'll be jealous of her N1 :-).

Upcoming Phones / Re: Palm webOS coming to T-Mobile?

It is a shame, the people I know who have their phones love WebOS, their biggest complaints is the hardware.

WooT, even happier that I have my N1, I was hoping that by shelling out that much a little preferential treatment should be in order.

Nexus One / Re: worth the $529
« on: March 17, 2010, 09:05:29 pm »
its the best $530 i ever spent!  ;D

Ditto!!  The most I've spent on a phone previously was $700 and that was on a Sony Ericsson P990i back in 2004/05, this is like 10 times the phone.

I don't want a Zune that's a phone (zPhone).  If I did I would of purchased an iPhone.  If Microsoft doesn't continue developing WM then they are forcing me over to Android.

I'm so with you on that... just like I don't want an iPod that's a phone... I guess Microsoft is taking a leaf out of Apple's book here with the huge success of the iPhone and are using pretty much the same model for WP7.  Microsoft better watch out, Apple may have "making a music player into a phone / music player" locked down with patents :-)

LMAO black Silva, don't bash the HD2 like that even though what you wrote is funny as hell, the phone actually looks very nice and I'm sure Winmo Fans are j*zzing in their pants waiting for it's release, it's very nice hardware.  I'm still considering adding it to my collection :-).

Very good pont, I guess I am a bit hesitant on the N1 because I have heard all the issues, mainly the 3g issues of the phone, and that the ringer volume is really low, how has it been for you?

The ringing volume is hard to hear in the car with music on, but for me that's the same with any phone I use (I be jamming in the car).  When at the office I actually have to lower the volume on my N1, I find it more than loud enough, at home I have no problems hearing my phone ring unless there is a lot of other noise going on.

There is no difference between the two, both are unlocked.

I love my sexy nexy... best phone I've ever owned, hands down, even with its minor flows, but then again what's perfect.
