On Vista Ultimate on my Vaio, I cannot install the Android USB driver. I get an "Access is Denied" message. I am running as administrator.

Here is a screen shot of the new speed. Okay so the new version doesn't work with FireFox proxy you need to download FoxyProxy in order to use Socks v5 Download FoxyProxy from mozilla page.. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=foxyproxy&cat=allOpen the FoxyProxy options Click on Proxies ----->Add New Proxy ------>General (Check enable,Proxy Name: Tetherbot, Leave blank Proxy Notes, Select Animation icon & Include this proxy) ---------->Proxy Details (Select Manual Proxy Configuration, Host name: localhost Port: 1080, Select Socks proxy?-Socks v5) ----------> Click ok and a warning message should appear saying "You didn't enter and enable any white....." Hit yes Tool------> FoxyProxy>Use Proxy "Tetherbot for all URLs Now refresh your page and see if you are able to go online.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Update: Make sure you to Check "Use SOCKS proxy for DNS lookups" Is Under Global Settings.

Is it possible to get this working using IE7 or only FireFox using FoxyProxy? Can someone show how to set up the socket settings using IE 7 if possible?

For some reason IE Doesn't work even though it does let you use Socks. Ummm Firefox wouldn't let us use Socks by it self. That's why we are using FoxyProxy.

This is a start and I want to thank the developer for this cause people like me who need to tether now have the ability too.Thank you and thanks to you guys in this room for helping me set it up and getting it working properly.....

I have installed foxyproxy and have the drivers and proxy server working on my G1. I still can't connect to the internet using firefox and proxy 1080. Keep getting connection interrupted, connection to the server was reset while page was reloading. The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Was there eer a resolution to this? On one attempt I got the message proxy server refusing connection. I have started everything and started and stopped the proxy programs. I have tried both of them to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm all set up and ready to go. Can't wait to try it after the kids all go to bed. I'll be back with the results in a bit
UPDATE-I connected everything and changed the proxy settings in Firefox as advised but this is what I get when I open up Firefox:
"Connection Interrupted"
"The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."
"The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again."
HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
That's the same error I get, everything looks like it working, but when I try to open a page. That's what I get. Btw, I'm using XP.

Download Proxifier. 30 day trial. First hook up the G1 to your pc. Make sure you have the android driver installed on your pc, then run tetherbot on your phone, second run proxifier, third run the adb from the command prompt. BINGO!!! You can now use IE, Firefox, Yahoo, etc, etc.. The only downside is that sometimes the connection times out, but for now this is better then nothing.
Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyy

When using Proxifier, should both the Socks Proxy server and the Port Bouncer be started? If so what IP address and port number should be used for the Port Bouncer?

Worked for me!
Clearly Tmo wouldn't be too happy about this- does anyone know if they can find out/do anything about it?

I got the same thing. Could someone outline the steps to set it up with Proxifier? I'm leaving on a long trip tomorrow and would LOVE to get this working.

Yeehaa.. after a day of working through it, it is working for me. Foxy Proxy didn't work for me but Proxifier did. This wil get me through the weekend and would love any help on getting this configured to not have to use Proxifier. But then, it does work with Chrome as well
Susan
Since I posted earlier, below, I have made significant headway but the instructions are still not clear. My first problem was I already had installed the USB Connection. I have that running properly.
I have downloaded both tetherbot and proxy to my G1
Both run successfully
I have downloaded adb software and it is running successfully on my notebook.
I set everything for port 1080
On G1 I have started the proxy service, I have started tetherbot Start Socks and I have set Firefox to localhost port 1080.
Not able to connect.
Is there a particular order everything needs to be set or is there a step I am still missing???
Susan
I'm hoping one of you guys will help this ole gal get this set up. I am traveling tomorrow and while I had my Wing tethered which my puppy ate, I would like to try to get this running.
Heres' where I am.
1. I have successfully installed tetherbot on my G1' 2. I am successfully running adb on my XP but I have seen two different ports, 1080 and 8080
My system is not recognizing the new software although my G1 is successfully connected via USB I downloaded the android usb drivers and if I try to install new hardware manually, I get a Google listing and underneath, I get a list of 5-6 listings. Android Sooner ADB Testing Interface Android Sooner Composite Testing Interface Android Sooner Kernel Debug Interface Android Sooner Single ADB Interface HTC Dream HTC Dream Composite ADB Interface
From here I am totally lost. I am using Chrome and IE for the internet explorer. Do I need a work server? I don't have one.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Susan

Make sure your port is set to the same port u opened for ADB, when using fireproxy do not tick the option SOCKS proxy? leave it blank and it should work, at least thats what worked for me

I can't find the proxy app anywhere on my phone. I give up, this is way too techy for me.
