This might be an error on t-mobiles side (and i hope so) but doing a search for "upcoming phones" in the search field results this:

BlackBerry
BlackBerry® Pearl™ Flip 8220 $349.99
$349.99

Not the nice $49.99 price that's been rumored about.

I'm sure that's the price before any discounts.  I always said that $49.99 price was probably bogus and anticipated a price of $149.99 after rebate.  That seems most likely with the pre discount price of $349.99.

That still sucks.. Anyone who has a partial upgrade to use is looking at like $250.00 minimum.

It's priced pretty much the same as the 8220, so yeah, probably even more then $250.00.  It's not a cheap phone, in fact it's very loaded with a lot of great features.

I would have bee really shocked if they would have been able to get this thing out the door for that 50 dollar price.  There was just no way that was happening.

I still think it's an awesome device, and it should sell really well.

That's great, just in my budget. I'm still deciding thou between the Blackberry Pearl flip (8220), Samsung Tocco, or HTC Dream G1. But, the Tocco come out to late for me, i'm in college, and a phone is a necessity, and I can only go so long without a phone since i'm selling the one I got now, and November, is a long time. G1, I might not get cause I don't really like smart phones, and that one is highly advanced, and I don't know if imma need all them features. I really want the Tocco, but, unless it plans on releasing mid October, it's out of my reach.

wow.  Decisions, decisions.  G1 $179, 8220 $149, Shadow 2 probably in the $150 range as well.  Shadow 2 and 8220 will probably work with T-Mobile Web and my existing messaging, plus should allow me to sync (at least over wireless) with the exchange server @ work.  Shadow 2 and 8220 should also support Stereo Blue Tooth.  G1 does have qwerty keyboard, but if I really had to have that over the pseudo qwerty on the Shadow 2 and the 8220  I could look at what I'd pay for a curve.  Cool as it would be, I think I've talked myself out of the G1.

Hello all,
This is my first time posting. I've been browsing the forums for awhile now though, and I enjoy reading the information that you all provide about T-Mobile.
This may have been mentioned already, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case it hasn't been. I work at a Wal-Mart store in the cell phone area. Our T-Mobile rep has told us that the 8220 is going to be a phone that we will be receiving at Walmart. She said that it's going to be available at Walmart for around $50 (with bb plan). That price is going to be for new lines of service, as well as those eligible for a full upgrade.

Any reasons on why this would be?
